A man in my church is from the Philippines and he travels back regularly as he owns a house there.  He and his wife have been planning on moving there, and I guess they are doing a missionary project.  He actually spoke to us a couple days after the typhoon, letting us know about the work they wanted to do, but they hadn't yet heard if the people in those churches were OK. They were going to fly out that week, but I heard that a lot of flights were grounded in and out, so I'm going to guess he didn't make it as soon as he had expected.  I'm hoping to hear from him soon, however.

grumpybear It is. I am a Filipino living in the US and I am normally not touched by disasters. We grew up living through several typhoons a year. Our house floods multiple times a year. We usually deal. But this is a whole another story. Thankfully I don't have any family that's affected but watching and reading the news makes my heart bleed. We have NEVER seen anything like this before. It is horrific.

It is really hard to comprehend, isn't it?

Complete devastation in certain areas in the Philippines. Up to 10,000 are feared dead, thousands more homeless. They have no water, food, electricity and their homes are gone. Link below on how you can help...
