Well... unfortunately I think it's going to get worse before it gets better. I just wish I could be a farmer! But aside from work dramas, did a few things -

- Got cash at the ATM.

- Played trains and tangrams with Little Man.

- Made dinner.

- Did the bedtime routine with Little Man.

- Checked job listings and my emails.

- Laid out my clothes for work.

Now I'm going to watch Call the Midwife with husband, and pretend that I'm not stressed out at all...

Manic Monday.

- built care packages for DS1 and DS2

- post office to mail those

- computer repair place to drop off my laptop

- natural food co-op for DH's cream

- my mother's to haul stuff away

- donation center to leave a few things

- transfer station for recycling

- DH's office to take him a plant

- print shop to print some homework for him

- our house to haul junk from my mother's to our shed

- final call to utilities about closing mother's account

- back to print shop because we missed a couple of files

- back to my mother's, hauled more stuff

- back to DH's office to gift someone there with one of my mother's too-big-to-join-us houseplants

- home, put stuff away

- emailed realtor asking is the closing still day after tomorrow, and how about letting us know the location, please?

- almost 4:30 PM and I'm about to get lunch

I told DH this afternoon our next moving method will involve arson.

Kitchensqueen, your day was so busy!  It made me exhausted just reading it!  I hope your day at work is tolerable.  :)

Sunday was gloriously lazy.  We had a lazy morning.  Husband let me sleep in and made omelets for breakfast.

It has been raining allll weekend.  Today is was sleet, rain and snow.  They didn't cancel DD2's lax game.  After lounging around in the morning, drove 45 minutes in the sleet to Ariel's lax game only to have it canceled 3 minutes before we got there (yay!  We didn't want her playing in the sleet.  No hats or jackets allowed to be worn on the field).

Drove home (I fell asleep in the car) and tried to meet friends at Ted's Bulletin for lunch.  Shouldn't we realize in our area, on Sunday, EVERYTHING is packed.  It was a 3 hour wait (no joke).

Went to Counter Burger instead.

Came home and I was so disgruntled with the snow.  It was snowing and starting to stick.  I decided not to do ANYTHING today.

Put the heating pad on my shoulder and watched a Nature documentary with DD1.

Fell asleep.

Went upstairs to sleep because nonobadbordercollie kept pawing at my head and nosing my ear (I guess I nap so rarely she thought I was dead!  lol)

Came downstairs at 6pm and sat with DD1 and her friend while they built snap circuits.

Made Chili Mac for dinner.

Listened to DD1's story (it's exciting so far!)

Watched a show and then, no joke, went to bed.  lol

Sunday was the day of sleeping for sure!

Did a few more things this afternoon -

- Ran two dishwasher loads.

- Tidied the kitchen.

- Stopped at Dollar Tree for large picture frames for window cling storage. Also found some more craft items for the egg terrariums - larger eggs, glittered bunnies and glittered mini eggs. Plus floral foam.

- Picked husband up from work.

- Made dinner.

- Baked oatmeal cookies.

- Half organized my work bag.

- Laid out my clothes for work.

Now I'm sitting here, dreading having to go to work tomorrow. Not good.

Crazy morning of running around here -

- Quick breakfast of eggs and croissants.

- Dropped husband off at work for a day shift.

- Stopped at two Targets to cruise clearance. Found a Calphalon round cake pan marked down to $6, and a ton of gift wrap and treat boxes for $0.50 each - stocked up on plenty of those in red and tan/white since they're great for any occasion.

- Stopped at Michaels since they have a 20% off entire purchase (including sale items!) coupon this week. Found two Hello Kitty craft kits marked down to $6 from $20 and picked up two for my nieces to set aside for Christmas this year. Also picked up some Easter decor (a wood plaque and some Easter egg plant stakes) as well as some craft supplies for the Easter egg terrariums I saw on Pinterest last night - figured it will be a fun craft to do with Little Man.

- Went to Goodwill and found a ton of stuff for $15.

- Went to Woodmans to do a major grocery shop.

- Drove home and got lunch for us.

- Put away the cold groceries.

- Put Little Man down for a nap.

I wish I could take a nap, but this house is a mess. Need to do the following -

- Put away the rest of the groceries.

- Get the chicken in the crockpot for dinner.

- Put away clean dishes.

- Load the dishwasher with the sink full of dirty dishes.

- Clean up a honey mess in one of the kitchen cabinets from this morning...

- Put away the gift wrap and gift items I bought.

They're pretty lenient on expenses; I just couldn't get a direct flight because all air traffic into Chicago was grounded. So I had to fly to the next closest airport that was open and then drive if I wanted to get home - the weather was miserable. I'm so glad it's over now.

Trying to get back to normalcy here -

- Got up with Little Man so husband could sleep in - got him breakfast and watched cartoons with him.

- Had breakfast with Little Man and husband (husband cooked).

- Got Little Man ready to go out to run errands.

- Stopped at Whole Foods for a travel size Burt's Bees moisturizer since I had a $1.50 off coupon that expired today - good deal and we can never have too much moisturizer on hand.

- Popped into Hobby Lobby to cruise the clearance. For less than $5 we found almost a yard of burlap, almost a yard of beige linen, a St. Patrick's day candle holder, shamrock cupcake picks and 2 packages of St. Patrick's day ribbon. I was surprised that they still had some stuff at 90% off!

- Grabbed a newspaper at Dollar Tree, and forgot I wanted to look at picture frames (I'm dreaming up a way to store my window clings so they don't get ruined in storage).

- Went to Target for a few grocery items and to cruise clearance. Probably the best find of the day was a large blue metal basket for $6 (originally $20!) that is perfect for holding stuffed animals and balls in Little Man's room. I also found a package of red/white polka dot tissue paper for $0.44 and some Hormel shelf stable chicken at 50% for $1.50 (which I only buy for camping - great way to have meat without refrigeration). And used a few random coupons that expired today.

- Stopped at Walgreens to pick up a prescription.

- Came home and got Little Man some lunch.

- Put Little Man down for a nap.

I'm still super tired, so I'll probably take a short nap after I'm sure that Little Man has gone to sleep. And I need to get something to eat for lunch. Plans for the afternoon -

- Bake cookies with Little Man.

- Clip and organize my coupons.

- Write a blog post or two after Little Man goes to bed this evening.

Taking a mid-day breather:

- after breakfast, DH and I took my mother to her house

- DH and I hauled a bunch of junk to the dump

- back to her place, took another bunch of things to donation center

- home, sorted and put away the things we brought back here

- talked dogs, made list of questions and info for breeder we're visiting tomorrow

Still plan on:

- picking mother up, taking her to Mass

- quick dinner

- have to do a load of laundry

- want to make DS2 a batch of crunchy granola

Yesterday all I really did was work.  I am behind on my spreadsheet and I haven't been working so I worked 5 hours yesterday (which is a lot for me to do, usually I do 2 hours a day).

I also took nonobadbordercollie to the vet to get her stitches out and bought rattie food for the ratties.

Went out to lunch with son

Bought an orange and black sweatshirt for the basketball game tonight

Listened to a Climate change documentary while I worked.

Painted girls nails and mine orange and black (the girls' school colors)

Went to the basketball game against a rival elementary school.  The rival school does this every year with another school. Teachers against teachers, girls team plays, boys team plays.  Teachers lost but our girls and boys won!!  omg, The boys' game went down to the last few seconds.  SO EXCITING.  Who knew basketball was exciting!

Came home and watched Wolf of Wall Street with husband (it was okay, a little over the top and loooooong)

I'm finally home. It was such a nightmare. I didn't get home until 1 in the morning last night. So I was supposed to fly in O'Hare yesterday afternoon, but my flight got cancelled because they grounded all air traffic in Chicago due to gale force winds. Husband had to work today, so I couldn't wait for a the rebooked flight (which would've been about now). So I had to find another way home - ended up getting a plane to Moline via Atlanta, then a two hour drive from Moline to Chicagoland. But just as I was getting ready to go through security, I get a call from the airline that the Atlanta connection is delayed, which means I would've missed the rental car pick up and been stranded in Moline overnight. So I ran out of security and hopped on my laptop to find another flight - connection via Detroit - that left in 20 minutes! Ran to print boarding passes, miraculously got routed through TSA easy screening lanes and ran through the terminal to arrive at the gate just as the flight was boarding... two miserable flights and a nearly three hour drive home through crap weather...

But I'm here. And then I nearly quit my job. I told my boss that something has to give. This isn't the job I signed up for. She told me I was doing a good job and to not work this weekend at all and take some time to relax. She doesn't want me to quit, so we'll talk more Monday. Hopefully the message is getting through to them loud and clear at this point...

Other than all that, I slept in a bit this morning, returned the rental car and did some office work from home. Played trains, Legos and puzzles with Little Man. Did the bedtime routine, though he's sick, so he's having a hard time going down. I'm thinking about sorting through my coupons, but I'll probably just go to sleep soon, once I'm sure Little Man is sleeping. I'm past the point of exhaustion.

More moving errands today:

- hauled and sorted a bunch of cardboard boxes and packing materials from mother's basement

- took recycling to the dump

- donated the packing materials to our UPS store

- set aside some great moving boxes for DS1 and his GF

- went to bank to drop off mother's trust paperwork

- went to the library

- took myself out to lunch

- put away the things I brought back here

- chatted with DH online

- folded and put away laundry

- did some stretches for my knee

Now it's either dinner, or a nap and then dinner.  Picking DH up in a couple of hours.  :joy

Yesterday was pretty casual and nice!

*Walked nonobadbordercollie FINALLY.  Stitches or no, she was driving us all insane.

*Answered Discussion board posts for college

*Helped son with math

*Went to chiro appt

*Went to homeschool friend's house and son played with her son and I chatted with the mom.  We agreed both kids are comfortable enough with each other to do drop offs now (which is good because I really like the mom, but I could also use the time to study or work)

*Came home in time to clean kitchen, drink coffee

*Greeted girlies and chatted with my good friend a while.

*Husband took son to lax practice (It wasn't canceled!! WOOHOO!) while I cooked dinner

*DD1 was being a little, I guess a bit hormonal?, so I suggested she play Xbox with her sister and they played this car racing game and we had a lot of fun laughing at them- they were terrible drivers.

*Us girls had a dinner full of way too much silliness.  When it's just us three we get super silly.

*The girls picked stories tonight to read.  DD1 brought home Stone Soup, a book of stories published by kids her age.  She wants to submit to it.  After reading some of the stories, I agreed she was definitely a good enough writer to be published there.

*Tucked them in, played Diablo with husband, went to sleep!

I felt that way when I first started driving... just so nervous.  And when I had a Jeep Wrangler with no top and I went out on the highway I about died! You'll get used to it!  All your stops, though, I'm not surprised you were tired!  Hope you were able to sit away your evening!  :)

Maria- Briards are gorgeous!  They sound a lot like my border collie mix in personality (maybe because f the herding?).  Good luck in whatever breed you decide.  The breeder we got our newfie from had newfies 13 years old onsite.  I was so happy to see they had long lived newfies.  The 13 yr old newfies- there were two- came out to greet us and were still moving around and very sweet.

MrsKoehn Thank you, Maria. I had 2 good nights of sleep, then last night she was up on an average, 2 times an hour. I think she's getting close on at least one tooth. PLEASE BREAK THROUGH!! And of course it is a shopping day today. And I have no chauffeur anymore. Hubby got a car I could drive so he doesn't have to carry me around. Lol

So today

Got hubby off to work
Read my Bible, wrote my grocery list out in the order I shop the store
Nursed the babe off and on for about an hour and a half. She could have got up then, but I could tell she was really tired and cranky. She finally slept almost an hour. She was still crabby, but not as bad as she would have been.

Then I put groceries away while taking to my Mom.
Since then, I have diapers washing and I'm checking emails and on here. She is watching new Easter Veggie Tales that came in the mail today. I plan to sit here till hubby gets home, then sit some more till bed time.

Today, and the past few days for that matter, have been low key. Survive is the name of the game. She's teething. Again. Tooth #13, but the 8th since January. No wonder we're worn out. But I also have been having an allergic reaction and (maybe because of that) lower blood pressure and a higher heart rate. So as I said, survival mode. Only doing the barest necessities. I think today is finally looking up though.

On that note, today:

Read my Bible after I got up with her. So much for quiet time. Heh part of being Mom I guess.

Did a LOT of dishes. I hadn't done any in a day and a half so it was totally necessary.

Attempted to paint her toe nails. She likes to have it done, but some days she refuses to sit still or leave them alone till they're dry. That was today (any yesterday and Friday).

We woke up Dad (he worked late then was up later trying to figure out where they messed his check up. Again.)

Mixed up a double batch (which still wasn't much) of a copycat Lowry's Seasoned Salt, it was not bad, even though I was out of turmeric.

Took a welcome shower and did a mini facial. Now I look ghostly white. I guess it was time, ay?

Fried pork chops and made gf mac and cheese - takes me back to my childhood though he's not big on pork and kept mentioning that. This is maybe the third time I've made it in the 5 1/2 years we've been married, though I think only the second. Get over it.

Did more dishes, at least it's pretty well all the dishes for the day since that was our main meal and he's off working now.

Straightened up a little of her messes. She's in that age where you can't clean fast enough!

Got entirely too angry with my #3 brother over a really ignorant text he sent. Hubby said to tell him XYZ and then not to talk to him anymore today. I think that's a good idea. I think I have my childhood temper under control till I get into a row with one of my siblings. Lol Thankfully that doesn't happen too often.

Said bye to Daddy

Took a nap with the baby that was way too short. My FIL woke me up knocking on the door. Apparently hubby forgot his keys on the counter here at the house and he was trying to get ahold of me. But I had my ringer down since we were sleeping. Lol I lay back down and nursed the little one back to sleep, then I got up for a snack. Now here I am. Actually on the pc which is SO MUCH EASIER than typing this much on the stupid tablet. It's handy for some things, but typing anything of substance is for the birds on that thing. And you guys see how many typos that darned AutoCorrect makes for me. Editing with it is even a bigger pain.

Hope you've been able to catch up on sleep and peace.  That was the hardest thing for me with little ones.  I remember physically craving mental as well as physical room for myself.

DH has a new tablet and they're still getting to know each other.  He speaks into it sometimes and leaves the more hilarious entries uncorrected for me.

Kitchens, I hope you have a safe trip home!!

Yesterday:

*Worked out

*Showered and all that jazz

*Studied for a while

*Did laundry, cleaned kitchen

*Researched some homeschool stuff- found a unit on kafka and printed it out.

*Bought a Kafka collection on my kindle

*Made son sit down and listen to me read (heh).  Talked to him about The Metamorphosis.

*Took son to homeschool history class (I studied more while he was there)

*lax canceled because there's still !@@#$@! snow on the ground.  So I made dinner instead.

*Ate early dinner and took husband to the airport for business.

*Went straight to son's DJ lesson (signed him up for additional practice slots).

*Got call from husband that "the plane broke and his flight was canceled" so went and picked him back up

*Got some Starbucks and managed to coerce him not to work for a minute while we waited for son to be done lessons.

*Took everyone home and kids went to bed.

*I put hot pads on my shoulder, which has still been killing me (despite celebrex and therapeutic massage and 3x weekly chiro appts)

*Went to bed!

Currently a friend's children are here before school because she had a vet appt for her puppy.  Nonobadbordercollie is out of the cone of shame and she NEEDS a walk today.  She's driving us all crazy with her energy- she chases and herds everyone, growling fiercely and biting- but all play.  Hey, you can see nonobadbordercollie on my semi neglected blog: http://homeschoolcraziness.blogspot.com/2014/03/time-in-woods.html

Nonobadbordercollie looks and sounds like such a busy-busy-dog!  She's great -- beautiful and fun!  Glad she's improved enough to lose the cone.  Yes, that's our Berner in my profile pic.  Quite stubborn, too, in her own sweet way.  So connected to us; we miss her a lot.  I did call the breeder where we got her right after we got back from California, so another is definitely a possibility.  Their lifespans are decreasing, especially in recent years, and DH and I are also looking into other breeds.  We are going to visit Briards this weekend http://www.vetstreet.com/dogs/briard  The clincher for us to take a closer look at them?  "Note that he doesn’t like discord in the home. He has been known to step in to protect children who are getting a spanking."  A dog made for MDC!!!

First day at home with furniture-moving pressure behind me:

- overslept

- hauled in things mother and I had put in the car from her place a few days ago

- chatted a while with her about where to put some of it

- did some dog breed research online; we don't like a house without one

- made DH frozen lunches

- took trash and compost out to the shed

- started roasting some chicken to dice up for a couple of DH's dinners

- built soup for dinner, got it simmering

- took care of a few volunteer emails

- started and kept the fire going

I think that's it for today.  Might head up to the attic and start organizing some of what's been brought in there, but am in no hurry to do that.

Aww, I'm sorry, meowmix.  It gets so old.  Now I'll have to ask DH what's up; he's in Arlington and hasn't said a thing.  Hope it melts soon!

Well, this morning I got a few groceries, dropped off dry cleaning, and met the donation truck at my mother's.  They took the last of the things-too-large-for-us-to-handle.  All in very good condition, so new people will get to use it, too.  Win-win.  A couple of odds and ends until the house is empty, closing tentatively scheduled for next week, and I'm *done*!

Having a late breakfast and starting some laundry.  Have to rearrange some things first, though:  in my hurry yesterday, I had the movers put a few things right under the clothesline.  Go, me.  Have been a little out of it.  Left a small cabinet in mother's basement that the donation crew was supposed to take, then almost stopped in to see DH at work -- while he's out of state.  Great.  His colleagues would have duct-taped me to a chair and gotten on the phone with him hundreds of miles away.

ETA  I did get the laundry washed and hung.  Also paid a couple of more bills online, kept the fire going, cleaned up the pans and wrapped and stored the muffins and cake my mother baked, called her utility companies to close her accounts and update her address, took a short walk, emailed back and forth with DH and DS2, read a little.

Hey, it's five o'clock.  Do I really have time to post?  How amazing.  :)  Oh, apparently not since it's 10:30 now and I am finally getting a chance to get back to this.  heh

*Woke up too late to work out this morning.  Too tired.

*Put gas in the car

*Made it to Chiro appt only minimally late.  She did some sort of wonderous thing involving trigger points on my neck and it felt so much better.

*Ran home and grabbed son

*Went to Whole Foods for food.  We actually had a lot of fun shopping and cracked up when this like 3 or 4 yr old, when his mom wasn't looking, like FILLED their shopping cart with some fancy Whole Foods soda.  He was so purposeful and quick about it.  Like "Darn it, mommy, we WILL be getting coke!"  lolol.

*Went to the DJ place and was unsuccessful in signing him up for extra lessons.  Had to send an email to someone about it.

*Went to Safeway for the "things that are mainstream and I don't want to pay Whole Foods prices for".

*Came home and son helped me bring in the groceries.  I put them away.

*Ate lunch.

*Took DD1 to her horseback riding lesson and I studied while she rode.

*Came home and shredded the meat that was in the oven.

*Looked up a good German Chocolate Cake recipe to make.

*Cleaned the massive mess from cleaning out the fridge I made while putting away the groceries.

*Spent a blissful 30 minutes browsing books on my kindle

*Finished making dinner

*Ate with everyone and helped husband clean kitchen

*DD2 skipped her girl scout meeting tonight. They all watched Twilight Zone and I worked.

*I just finished working and want to go to bed.  ;)

Good night yall!

Well, I'm 700 miles from home on a business trip. It's so weird. It's very quiet and weird and lonely. I don't know how people travel for work on a regular basis - it must be so hard! My "accomplishments" for today are totally out of the box -

- Managed to wake up on time at the butt crack of dawn for my flight.

- Made it through security without any annoyance, and got breakfast at Starbucks.

- Navigated through O'Hare to the right terminal and gate without having to run carrying my shoes and all my baggage.

- Ran into my uncle-in-law who was leaving from the same terminal for a business trip.

- Routine flight and rental car pick up.

- Stopped at a great little Polish deli in a random strip mall for lunch - it was really good!

- Spent the afternoon at the office working.

- Went out to dinner with some coworkers.

- Headed back to the hotel and immediately changed into pajamas and flipped on HGTV. And then realized I left my toiletries kit in the bleeping car!

- Set every alarm on every device in the room, because I'm paranoid that I won't wake up on time because I'm alone and it's so quiet.

So, that's my day. :-) Going to work for a bit and listen to HGTV and try not think about my guys at home and missing them terribly.

Aww, work travel can be great and suck at the same time.  Are you on the road often?  Hope your trip is successful and short!

^^^  Uh-oh, I'll have to ask DH for instructions, sorry.  Can anyone see it?

Got a couple of huge things done today:

- fielded quick call from DS1 about where I left something we dropped off at his place a few weeks ago

- post office to mail DS2's box

- City Hall to pay property taxes

- FedEx store to get papers scanned for my mother

- mother's to meet the movers

- here to show them where to put stuff

- cleaned and loaded wood stove, started a fire

- emailed scanned closing documents for my mother

- called her bank about sale proceeds

- sat and drooled with relief about the furniture move being done

- paid our mortgage, emailed DH balance updates and budget questions

- confirmed the donation center pickup tomorrow

Popping out this afternoon to pick up some coffee and get the mail.  And sitting and drooling with relief some more.  Yesterday's soup for dinner.  Easy evening.  (Did I just say that out loud?  Expect my washing machine to come up the stairs, spew water all over the upholstered furniture, and spontaneously combust in the living room.)

I can't see it!  :(

This weekend has been so busy and I am SO.TIRED.

*Woke up around 7:30am and unwillingly got up (thanks nonobadbordercollie!  heh)

*We had brought donuts home the previous night so ate a healthy breakfast of donuts and coffee... and more coffee.

*Wrote my paper for my other class and finished it!

*Talked to MIL for a bit on the phone- she called to wish husband a happy birthday but he was playing flag football so I chatted with her instead.

*Realized how late it was and rushed to the store with DD2 to buy 4 yr old friend a bday present.  We have this history of buying him noisy toys so we got him a very noisy K9 police vehicle.  We love our friends and consider them part of our family so this is kind of a running joke.

*Rushed home to wrap present and get to the party.

*Spent some time at a 4 yr old birthday party at a bounce house. It's been a while since I've done that!  Makes me appreciate older kids as less exhausting.  ;)

*Went straight to DD2's lax game, which was delayed an hour.  So hung out there a bit.

*THEY WON THEIR LACROSSE GAME!  WOOOOHOOO!

*Since the game was late, we got a late start to our regular dinner haunt.  Met up with several good friends for dinner.  Friend (who has the 4 yr old) even had leftover candles so we stuck them in the dessert and sang Happy Birthday loudly to husband in the restaurant- much to his embarrassment.  Anyone watch House of Cards?  We both feel like Kevin Spacey did about birthdays. We'd really rather not acknowledge them but are okay if good friends say something.  lol.

*Came home and literally fell asleep on the couch.

I am exhausted this morning.
