Tear78 Felicity, I'm not sure what you're talking about preventing, but this is a thread for women going through the very painful journey of fertility treatments. Would you like help finding a thread where the calendar method might be a more applicable topic of conversation?

New to thread, introduction

I guess that I belong in the IUI/IVF group. Hi, My name is Aimee (38) and I live in Baltimore with my husband and my almost 6 year old daughter. About a year and a half ago I lost my son, Nico, at 19 weeks gestation, due to prom. It turned out I had Incompetent Cervix (IC) and so last summer I had a transabdominal cerclage (TAC) on my cervix so that I would be able to carry another baby. We have been trying for almost a year and I was just diagnosed with secondary infertility. We are not sure if it is because of the TAC (I am in the middle of tons of testing) but it seems likely as it is an uncommon but occasional side effect of the TAC, and I always have gotten pregnant fairly easily before I had the procedure. We are hoping to start IUI in my next cycle, in July. Waiting to hear back on blood tests and semen analysis. The HSG test looked fine. I hope to be able to do one round of IUI without hormones, but not sure if the doctor will support that. Has anyone here had a similar experience? Or used IUI without hormones? I can't find any information on success rates. Thanks, Aimee

hope4light kewpie - I think that sounds good for about 15dpo! Mine was a bit over 100 and it was a strong singleton. It's probably stressful because you are used to high numbers. Remember - doubling time matters!!!

Chourd - HI! Things are going well! Happy Belated Birthday!!

adie - woo hoo! Good luck with trigger and ER!

chuord Kewpie - keep your normal calm going, each baby is different so maybe you'll just have lower numbers with this one - fx for you!
Adie - woohooo!!!! So wishing you a successful harvest this month
Boots - your number sounds good too. Hope the insurance works out!
Tracy - how are you doing?
Oxford - how are you traveling sweetie? Hope you've had some down time to recover your disappointment...

@tracyamber - my RE usually does a 3dt but said that if we have a lot of good embies we will wait to see which are best. We will transfer 2!! So exciting! How are you feeling love? When is U/S?

iixivboots Hi everyone!

Kewpie, hoping for good things for you. Sorry about the stress Read on for my 15DPO beta numbers to compare.

So, I made an appointment for Wednesday with an OB, but a friend suggested I call my old fertility clinic and ask what my numbers were with LG, if they put me on progesterone because it was low. The nurse was so nice. She called me right back and had my old numbers, she said they were borderline. Then she suggested I come in for a beta and progesterone test. SO NICE, since they did not give me the clomid and haven't seen me since I was 8 weeks pregnant in 2012. They did the test and called me back three hours later. I was 15DPO yesterday. My beta was 103 and my progesterone was 21. They seemed to think both of those were good. She said based on that I didn't need progesterone. I have my second beta tomorrow and another one Friday. My wofondo is finally darker so I'm feeling pretty hopeful.

Still not sure what to do about early care here, I would LOVE to stay at this clinic for monitoring until 8w but not sure if my insurance would cover it. Their insurance person is on vacation until next week, so hopefully I will speak to her next week. I think the OB practice that I chose said they do ultrasounds between 8-10 weeks.

Tear78 Kewpie, that could totally be a fine number, though I know you're used to higher numbers for you. Limbo sucks. Are they going to test for doubling? Thinking of you and hoping!

kewpie80 They just called. My beta today was 98.8. That feels low to me. The girl who called me said it was a good number.

chuord Thanks trAcy, Tina and Xerxella - it was a very emotional day (mainly due to fertility) but by lunch time I lost the desire to sit in the corner and cry... We've all been there right?
Kewpie - fx for that next beta!
Tracy - hugs on all the emotions you're going through with this!
Tina - totally get it, sounds fun at your place
Hope - how are you going?
Adie - any news on trigger?
Hi all!
Mo - did you ever get to that scan?

hope4light kewpie - keeping you in my thoughts, still hope it's just the progesterone...

They bumped my beta to today since I'm still bleeding quite a bit.

Xerxella @adiejan - That's awesome!!!!! Trigger's coming up, right? It could be as early as tomorrow. Did they do another scan today? How's everything looking?

@tinytina - Wow!!!! That's awesome! You're really crafty! I could never do that sort of stuff. Good luck on Thursday!!!!! (And I think you'd make a great thread keeper! Just start one. )

tinytina Hi everyone,

Totally need to catch up. I needed a mental break for a couple days. Our appointment is Thursday. Been working hard around the apartment- I sanded and painted a new rolling cart for our kitchen. I have been re-organzing the kitchen. Started clearing out the spare bedroom a bit. Hung a hook for a hanging basket on the deck. Today's project is to build a new dresser and sort/change-over our clothing.

I love seeing everyone posting especially those who have gotten their BFP- it is so reassuring and makes me hopeful

If no one volunteered to be threadkeeper I am willing to do it.

Hi @adiejan - glad your numbers are doing so well dear

Hi @Tear78

Hi @Xerxella - I will have to check out the graduates thread. I find it hard to go look over there- bitter sweet. Would love to hear how you are doing though.

Hi @chuord , I will look into whether freezing sperm is an option. Hope AF visits soon and that your ovaries feel better soon! Hope you are relaxing and having fun! Happy Birthday dear!

Hi @kewpie80 - congrats hun! Love the tests. Hope your beta goes well. Glad the nurse was so re-assuring

Glad your blood pressure is much lower @tracyamber . Sounds like you are really relaxed/don't let yourself get to emotional. Glad your 2nd beta went so well. Good luck on the ultrasound. Stick around as long as you like dear. I for one am glad you are here.

Congrats on your BFP @iixivboots . Hope you find a doctor you are comfortable with.

Hi @lilacvioletiris

Hi @monkeyscience , hope you are progressing nicely and feeling good

Hi @hope4light

Hi everyone else!

I think it might have been even longer than that. 16 dpo? My old clinic waited forever it seemed. I can't ever remember how the IVF convert to DPO, but here were the date of everything from that cycle:

5/11 transfer (3 day)
5/20 first BFP HPT

5/22 2nd bfp HPT

5/25 beta

chuord Adie - I totally agree, we still need all your brilliant advice graduates šŸ˜Š
Kewpie - really looking forward to your beta, it's so exciting!
Xerxella - I understand what you're saying, but please keep us posted generally! I'm excited you're relaxed into it enough to move to the grads thread šŸ˜ƒ
Tracy - that sounds really promising! Remember your donor probably has a successful track record with her eggs... Breath! I'm so excited for your ultrasound! This next few weeks are going to be exciting.
Well I'm up the Sunshine Coast with my parents... It's beautiful and our balcony opens onto the waterfront - there's worse ways to wake up on your 40th... Also my tummy bruises (thanks clexhane) are healing faster this time. Here's to those of us not already pg having a successful few months xxx

tracyamber Something like this. I did not really make any changes but did change a few people. So @chuord would come and enter where she should be and @adiejan maybe make a waiting for retrieval heading @tinytina @oxford
All I did was copy/paste.... This is only if no one wants to be the thread keeper of the summer thread that @Xerxella mentioned should happen

tracyamber Another thing that could be done is everyone could copy /paste the updates and make edits when needed. In other words,When someone is waiting to ovulate or on their tww then they'd copy paste and made the edit for themselves. This could be a good method too as updates would be constant throughout the while thread rather than alway having to look at the first page which has gottan a little cumbersome with the new platform. Also, if someone did do the updates it is nice to have someone who can keep up with the updates and offer support. It isn't an easy job but like @Xerxella said"it is a lucky spot"

adiejan @tracyamber - so amazing!! Please linger longer!!

Speaking of..all of you lucky BFP ladies please stick around we need you all here! Glad you are moving on but don't forget about us all
06-09-2014 01:23 PM
Xerxella @tracyamber - WOOHOOO!!!!!!! That's an awesome doubling time! I don't know what it is, but it seems high! LOL You should post in the graduates thread. When exactly is your u/s? That will facilitate my proper stalking....

To all: We probably should start a fertility challenged one thread for summer. I'd be willing to do it, but I couldn't keep up with everyone's updates. I wouldn't think whoever took over the thread would need to keep the front page going. But, that's up to you all.

And, I should mention that the threadkeeper is a lucky spot...... Just saying....
06-09-2014 01:01 PM
tracyamber I hope you all don't mind if I linger a while longer here. I'm feeling a bit emotional......
Our first ultrasound will be next week to check for fetal pole, sac , and heartbeat.
06-09-2014 12:49 PM
tracyamber @Xerxella

Thanks for asking about the beta , it was 1021 today.

I'm glad you are feeling well. I do stalk you on the grads!!!
06-09-2014 08:45 AM
Xerxella @kewpie80 - It all sounds positive! 900ish is such a high first beta! Was that at 14dpo equivalent? I think 100 is a good 14dpo beta.

@tracyamber - second beta today, right? Good luck!!!!!!

@iixivboots - will you bedrooms any early tests? When will you do a first ultrasound?

@adiejan - when's your next appointment?

AFM - Everything's been going fine. I've been posting in the graduates thread if you want to check, but I fully understand how MANY people don't want those kind of details. And, I TOTALLY don't blame them. So, I won't be posting any of my details here, but I'll always be here cheering you guys on.
