skyview222 I hope you enjoyed your beach day. I grew up on boats and near water. ..I would love even the sound of the ocean at the moment. We live far from the ocean now. We have a sailboat on a lake nearby but it is too hot and far from our hospital to enioy it at the moment.
I was thinking of going swimming in our community pool tonight...ill need to use a long black tshirt to be decent for the public tho...didnt buy a maternity suit!

Last tues I was still at 0 despite thinking I would be otherwise... trying to make my induction as favorable as possible. Maybe the water will help.

BennyPai If you haven't met your baby yet, I hope you are somewhere near water. It is such a relief to float in a pool or at the beach/lake/etc. when you are uncomfortably pregnant. I was dilated 3cm for three weeks with my first, and at my 41 week appointment I was 5cm dilated without being in active labor. Our bodies do benefit from prodromal labor progress.

I was due on 6/17. This is baby #5 for me, and I have always gone at least 8 days past, so I am not getting antsy at all. I have learned to expect baby around week 42 instead of 40. I'm 40 weeks 2 days today and I'm taking my four daughters to the beach for some relaxing lounging in the sun.

skyview222 I can empathize with you. I have a different situation though. Work overwhelmed me over the last month so I was counting on being overdue to get home and baby ready and have a bit of a relaxation period before baby comes. Im due on the 29th. Last week before work was wrapped up my docs decided it would be best to induce eafly (due to health risks)...excitement and urgency all at once. Im trying to finish up as much I can and relax this week--pretty tall orders. Ready to meet our baby but hope im able to get enough relaxationand destressing in beforehand.
I do have to say I had a day and night of horrible cramping and would absolutely be losing it if I had to deal with that for longer. Heres to hoping for healthy and prompt deliveries!

aylamck It was great to read this. I am with my first at 41 weeks tomorrow, June 16, with no signs of labour but I have to just let my body and little one come when they are ready. Although I did make labour cookies so we will see if that helps. Trusting and being patient is what I am trying to focus on these days and enjoying the rest time and time with my husband before we have a little one to look after! I think my husband is nesting tho, he has been running around the house all day!!

I hear ya sister, I'm in the same boat with the same due date. I've been having braxton-hicks contractions for about a month now and since this is my 2nd baby, with my first having been 10 days late and born at over 9lbs, i'm really anxious to give birth asap before this one gets any bigger! Tried all the home remedies and nothing's working, but every night I feel cramping and think tonight's the night. You know what though, nature knows best. I'm just trying to chill out and and enjoy the calm before the storm. It may feel like time is going slow but we won't be pregnant forever, it'll happen very soon and then time will speed up as the little ones grow up and you'll wish you could rewind to this moment.

Tired of Being Pregnant

I feel this way- same due date. But, I am better at speaking from another perspective to say that you really, really should just try to take some good naps, eat lots of food (especially if baby has dropped and you are feeling THAT relief), and do something (anything) for yourself! I'm pregnant with baby #4 , although we are a house with 6 children already. I'm a super busy mom who should be very patient to wait for the arrival of our babe, but also feel quite impatient.
From my own experience, I'll say that dilating and effacing before your labor really gets going, is a HUGE blessing! With my first, I was dilated 7cm and didn't know I was in labor! That was awesome, until my midwife broke my water. I didn't know any better. Well, I knew something. I had made the decision at 20 years old to have a water birth with a midwife- so that was a good start. But, I wasn't experienced, and as well-read as I am today. I pushed for four exhausting hours. I truly believe that my body, though dilated to 7cm, was still not ready. Baby, wasn't ready to come yet, either.
So, hopefully, you can relax and trust that your miracle of a body and baby ARE doing they're work, settling down low, and opening up. When it's time, you will be starting from a point of already being somewhat open. You won't exhaust yourself trying to progress when your body wasn't ready yet. Many blessings to you for a beautiful birth!

About to lose it!

So my due date is on Monday the 16th and I have been 3 cm dilated & 80-90% effaced for over 2 weeks now (my midwife thought I would be coming early too). I am tired, uncomfortable, having days where I have lots of contractions then days where I don't feel one. This is my first full term pregnancy and I'm dying to be induced but my midwife won't since this is my first baby (not until 41 weeks). I don't know if my nerves can take another week of this. And believe me I have tried all the home remedies to try to get labor going including 2 labor & inducing acupuncture appointment this past week. This kid is really testing my patience. AHHHHH!!!!! Anyone else feel this way, I'm so DONE being pregnant and ready to meet our Little Stubborn Miss.
