adiejan @radiowave -how exciting to have a plan!!! Stimming is no fun but you are well on your way to a bfp! I'm so happy the financial burden has been lifted. So incredibly generous. What is your protocol?
@tinytina -I know you're busy but just hoping the opk said go time!!
radiowave Hiya all,
I can't wait to hear how many babes you've got in there @chuord ! And to learn about more BFPs. This is such an amazing group.
AFM: Crazy few days around here getting ready for my daughter to start a new school (kindergarten at a Waldorf school), and for me to go back to the play school where I teach, and so on and so forth. I am so ready to get into a routine again, and to have my daughter in a great place for her. She has had way too much change and stress since we lost our Nico.
After meeting with the IVF counselor today I am so glad that I will only be at school 2 days a week (with the two day twos). September looks crazy with the number of meds, ultrasounds, and blood draws ( I think that I counted ten, at least). We are so lucky that my step-father is helping us. We went for the two fresh IVF, and as many FET as we could do package, which is $17,500. The meds just for the September cycle are over $4,000. We'll never be able to pay him back and dh would never have been willing to take out a regular loan. The IVF counselor today was supportive of us doing a single embryo transfer, since I have a medical reason (incompetent cervix and a transabdominal cerclage) to avoid multiples. THe numbers she gave me for twins after double embryo transfer in women my age (38) at their clinic was pretty high…40% for all live births after IVF with own eggs and sperm.
I start the stim drugs on September 4th.

tinytina Hi everyone,

AFM: No news here yet. Might not be around much over the next couple days. My parents are arriving here later today and are staying until Saturday.
@adiejan , Both of our families know we are TTC and they know we are going to the clinic but nothing more than that.

I would love to explore some of those activities @chuord . Love your distractions. How are you doing?
chuord Tinytina - my mum is into scrap booking. At UNI we had the choice for subjects in other streams, I did paper making and bookbinding - if you ever get the chance it was so much fun! Corn husks make a beautiful soft paper, and using procion dyes you can get every colour in the rainbow... Sorry distraction everyone!
Adie - are you doing anymore betas? They were happy for me to do more for 'peace of mind' lol your doubling time is super fast.
How's everyone else going?
adiejan @tinytina -sorry about the neg opk's this far! I hope you get the green light soon. Does your family know about your ttc? I love making jewelry too. I used to be into scrap booking but never found the time so I haven't done that in years.
@chuord -yay for the beta! Now hurry up time! This is very real love...enjoy every moment you worked very hard emotionally, physically, and spiritually to get here!!

tinytina Hey everyone,

AFM: CD 13, no positive OPK yet. My parents are coming up this evening, going to spend time with my brother until late Wednesday and then they will be visiting here until the following Saturday.

Hope these little changes really help/make a difference @LittleKind . Hope you get the slippers done.

Love your response/answer @chuord . I am big into paper crafts- I love scrapbooking and making cards. I also love making my own jewelry. Absolutely love your numbers!

Due to my age and lack of medical conditions we will do 6 cycles with minimal to no intervention @adiejan . I am really happy with our decision.
08-24-2014 07:46 PM
chuord Littlekind - lol re the half knitted slippers... That's so my style, UFO's everywhere!

I just got my 3rd beta back, unneeded I'm sure but it has relaxed me... At 24dpo hcg is 9189! Seems huge!

It's all feeling really real now
08-23-2014 03:56 PM
LittleKind The dr wants me to eat lower carb - especially no grain - and more protein. It will be hard for me. I was vegan before my son was born and tend to think that is more healthy than what he suggested, but I am going to do it. Lots of greens, too, which I know I need to do anyway. I'll start on progesterone later in my cycle so I am going back next week to get a baseline or something. Speaking of unfinished crafts, my son starts preschool in a week and needs to wear slippers in the classroom. I knit the first one in June and have yet to do the other one! A lady I work with just had a baby on Monday so I am making stew and muffins for her right now so I can go over and snuggle a newborn.
08-23-2014 02:35 PM
adiejan @LittleKind - You have such an incredible outlook on all of this. What did the new doc do to adjust your diet?

@chuord - I love all of the things you have done. I have all sorts of crafts and unfinished projects that are now just driving me bonkers. I have been wanting to start a painting project. I told myself that I can't even think about that until I have cleaned up a few rooms in my house. Hummmm sure haven't done that yet! ha ha

@tinytina - that is awesome to have that many vials! It would be great to get some biologically related sibs! How many cycles will they do un-medicated before exploring those options?
08-23-2014 01:53 PM
chuord Littlekind - you are so sweet the way you take your bad news! Hope the tweaking this new doc does helps a lot!
Tina - buying several vials was a really clever idea!
Re crafts, when I was unwell I got into quilting and patchwork a bit, also quite unique projects with a modern textile group I was a member of (older ladies but so talented and young at heart - no one uses patterns, they design it themselves) I've always found it a bit embarrassing that I find craft so easy, but it really was a godsend when I was bored and stuck at home. Lol I also have some half made clothes (I made patterns from original pieces), I've made a few bags when favourites wore out, hand made teddy bears, crocheted baby blankets, oh and I did some leadlighting - so that's spread out over the garage lol (stopped when ttc) sorry about the long winded answer I must be be nesting for the last several months I want to sort and declutter instead - the problem is what to throw out!
08-23-2014 09:08 AM
LittleKind @chuord , I am out but I am ok. It was a super long cycle with very weird symptoms -- I guess extended pms. I saw my new doc yesterday that I told you about and he adjusted my diet a little bit and is starting progesterone testing/supplementation (cream) with me. Thanks for asking after me. I am just reading along and cheering for you and @adiejan . I am so happy for you both!! It is totally ok that it is not my turn yet. My life is really full and blessed these days and I can be patient. Keep taking it easy -- growing a baby is tiring!
08-23-2014 07:37 AM
tinytina Updated to Here! Please put any changes into BOLD! Thanks
08-23-2014 07:36 AM
tinytina Hi everyone!
@adiejan , you asked if we are using the same donor sperm and yes we are. We got a discount from the sperm bank for ordering 6 vials at one time (the most our clinic can handle for freezing). We ordered the 6 vials so that either way we could try multiple times or have siblings who are biologically related. Hugs hun! Congrats! Love your Beta results.

Hi @chuord - not exciting to report here. However, we made some serious progress yesterday on our spare bedroom cleanup. What kind of craft projects do you have?

Good luck on getting your house @tracyamber .

Hi @Sourire
08-22-2014 08:07 PM
chuord I'm on the 2nd sept... So almost a week earlier, sane time 6.5 weeks - apparently they prefer to wait till 7 but I couldn't lol!

Sour ire that's a good system if you're a prolific poaser I'm too scared of them to go there... Everyone does their own thing for reassurance. I'm doing muscle testing, nothing goes in my mouth unless I've first tested it's baby safe lol - you all feel sane now right
08-22-2014 07:11 PM
adiejan @tracyamber -I know, I know...I am a sneak! I might have been less freaked out had I shared! How exciting about the new house! When will you move? Ocean view AND lake view...I'm jealous!
@chuord - you're right! I could use any distraction. My scan will be at 6 1/2 weeks...soooo probably around 9/8 or 9/9. When is yours again? I'm glad you're taking it easy with all of those babies you're packing around
@Sourire - thank you so much for the advice. I really feel that I keep peeing on those things to reassure me that everything will be ok. I know there are no guarantees so maybe I should quit looking for them. It's just so hard after a loss or two
08-22-2014 06:41 PM
Sourire Adie - at the beginning of my pregnancy I was POASing every day until about 7 weeks, I needed constant reassurance after my miscarriage a few months earlier. I learned that you can't really compare tests done on consecutive days, even FRERs looked the same when I did them 2 days in a row. So I alternated between 3 brands of tests and only compared tests that were 3 days apart, that way I always saw the line getting darker and didn't feel as stressed out.
08-22-2014 05:23 PM
chuord Yay Tracy that sounds so exciting! I can see myself wanting to move as well, moving after having a child seems so much more work!
08-22-2014 04:38 PM
tracyamber @adiejan
I can't believe you had a beta and did not tell us.... You sneaker!!!!
Throw away the sticks and your pregnant!!!!!!!!!!! @chuord
Having a little fatigue? Or just feeling tired? I had major fatigue in the beginning. And still some now which drives me crazy cause I like to bake a cake, vacuum, and read a book all at the same time.
Oh I have something exciting for you , we had our appraisal for the house we hope to close on on the 12th. I love this house I have and ocean view on one side and a lake view on the other. I'll actually have a cute little space just for the baby!!!!! And my dh will officially have his own surf cave which he has been complaining about way too long.
Thinking of you both!

chuord Aide - so glad betas are going the right way, you are totally right - walk away from the sticks! So when will they scan you? 6 or 7 weeks? So exciting!
I would be better distracted if I had a little more energy... I've been going gently so I don't get tired... Which gives me time to check this site 20 times a day, surf the net for all things baby related, and wonder why time is so slow lol...
Ladies - please update where you're at and what's exciting, I'm sure adie needs distraction too
I have heaps of craft projects to do - if only I could be bothered
08-22-2014 04:02 PM
adiejan @chuord -your sweet post made me cry...in the middle of 5 guys burger joint...by myself! Crazy preggo chica here!! Not sure about your prediction but who knows...see below

Sooo I had a beta on wed (12dpo) but didn't want to talk about it until I knew my numbers were rising!
12dpo- beta 36!! progesterone 9.9 (low)
14dpo-beta 85!! Progesterone (will be back tomorrow)
So that's a 38 hour doubling time!
I'm not going to POAS anymore...stupid sticks!

I'm going to continue positive thinking! @tinytina , will you move me to August BFP's!
08-22-2014 01:43 PM
chuord Tina - fx for you!!!
Littlekind - are you out? Did I miss something? Hope you are ok
Adie- don't be so hard on yourself! You are so bubbly and cheerful all the time, with your experiences so far ttc of course you will feel a little anxious at this stage... Even though I have the best of feelings about this for you and I'm sticking to multiples... Just an aside how happy would you be if all three stuck?
When is your beta? Must be today or tomorrow? Fx for fast reassuring results! Seriously, remember to be gentle with yourself and remember you deserve this miracle...
08-22-2014 11:55 AM
adiejan Hi Everyone! Thank you all for the nice comments. This community helps me so much!! Love you all!
@LittleKind -sorry this long cycle didn't work out! @Sourire - thanks for all of the awesome info! @chuord - I hear you on the scan! However, I always find the next things to worry about! @tinytina -so exciting! Getting close to O day!! Are you using the same donor sperm?

AFM- I was trying not to freak myself out but I haven't done a good job of it haha. I've taken frer's everyday and they've been getting darker. However, today I used a new pack of tests that def have thinner lines and there was no significant change from yesterday. I know tests can vary a lot so I'm just trying to stay calm. I know I just need to be grateful and have faith. I keep letting my stupid fear and ego get in the way so I try to control what is out of my control...sigh.

tinytina Hi everyone,
Hope everyone has a great and relaxing weekend.

AFM: CD 10, tomorrow I start using the OPK's.

Fingers crossed @Sourire

Hope the scan and third beta reassure you @chuord

Hi everyone else!
08-21-2014 05:12 PM
Sourire Chuord - I'll probably start trying for another baby in about a year. I have 4 frosties left so hopefully one of them will stick. I know the wait for that first ultrasound feels never ending, hang in there!!!!
08-21-2014 01:54 PM
chuord Thanks for sharing sourire! I'm sure it will help radio
So are you planning on going back and utilizing your left over frosties anytime soon? I love everyone's different thoughts, we end up with a huge amount of knowledge.
How is everyone? Littlekind any testing? Adie? Tina, radio, Tifga, sorry on my phone and my brain gave out everyone else?
Afm - I want to get to my scan and feel safe knowing I'm viable... Then I'll truly accept it all. Third beta on Monday, I'm almost tempted to go early for reassurance lol.

tinytina Hi and welcome @timeforbaby4
08-21-2014 09:56 AM
timeforbaby4 Hi ladies. I'm new here. Well, not new. I was around years ago when TTC my 7 year old and my 4 year old twins. We have male factor infertility and we weren't going to have any more babies. After 5 losses, it was starting to get so draining. But we have made the choice to try again. Hoping to do a couple of natural cycles before heading in to do IVF (again). This time, I am contemplating doing a shared cycle so that I can donate eggs to another couple in need. So, that's me. I'll just probably follow and chime in here and there this cycle since you all don't know me. CD 2 for me.

tinytina Any status updates needed?
08-21-2014 05:25 AM
tinytina Hi everyone,

AFM: Still in waiting mode- working on clearing out the spare bedroom.

Hi @hope4light

Hi @tracyamber , glad to hear you are okay but you can complain dear. I know that you are happy to be pregnant even though there are rough days. I am feeling a lot better emotionally. Its actually my parents who are coming to visit (a week from today). Its CD 9 so I am starting to gear up for it.

Its so reassuring on here to see so many BFP's!

Glad you are enjoying cupcakes @MakeItSew

Hi @Sourire , our clinic does SET's as well in New Brunswick. There is talk that the government here will give infertility patients a one-time credit towards treatment costs. Thanks for all your helpful advice/information.

So sorry to hear about this month @LittleKind . Hugs and fingers crossed dear.

Hi everyone else!
08-21-2014 04:44 AM
LittleKind Oops I'm out this month. That was my longest cycle ever by two days. A new record! Luckily I didn't save the stick I thought looked barely positive in my imagination, so I can't overthink it

I'm disappointed but also kind of glad to not start the new school year feeling sick and tired. I have to be on my toes with these older kids. It is a learning curve for me!
