I did drink castor oil... yuck! I was 41 weeks, 6 days and getting desperate. Dd2 was born 18 hours later. Totally gross, but it did the trick... although I wonder if thats what actually got labor...

I agree wtih the suggestion to try and get your hands on a small freezer for really inexpensive or free. We got a small on for free off of Craigslist two years ago... it is ugly, but it works great!
