I have a 4 year old son and he LOVES Thomas Train, Blues Clues, Jay Jay The Jet Plane, Dora, Diego etc. They are all educational with no bad stuff.

I would say probably 12 for a girl, 14 for a boy as they seem to mature later lol It just depends on the kid SO much..I don't think there is a correct answer.

Awww! I hate that stuff too. DS got some a couple years ago and set it on the couch for 2 seconds and it "melted" so badly into the fabric it was ruined.

DS Loves Thomas trains, hot wheels cars, crayons and coloring books or plain paper, watching movies (we don't have cartoons on our TV), and playing with playdoh.
