FWIW, I had a c-section at St. Johns and the care afterward was very good. C-section itself was complicated, but I had a wonderful OB and the hospital was very breastfeeding friendly - even helped...

It could be thrush, I know it's possible to have thrush without symptoms, so maybe you are only have symptoms...

My son always took both, but I know lots of women whose babies only took one side per feeding. If you are worried about a fore/hind milk imbalance, feeding one side per feeding is a good way to go....
