You need to go with what you're comfortable with. If you're just not comfortable with male OBs, then don't. It can damper your labor and birth with being uncomfortable with your Doctor.

You'll love it! I used mine for the first 4 months with ds2 and then off and on for the first year. He's 1 now and I still wear it sometimes. It's super comfy!

No not at all. The pain in childbirth to me is my body working to get my baby out of the womb. The only pain I felt in my unmedicated birth was during transition. That was it.
