Osnaburg fabric a heavy cotton that some mamas like, or you can buy 100% linen in a medium weight (6-7 oz). Denim or twill will also work-- same weight as the linen I recommended.

I've found that sometimes it's more of a request for attention than the need for a snack. I will pick up my dd and involve her in what I'm doing or find a new activity that we can do together.
