I agree, daycares should be open on all but major holidays. Not everyone gets Christmas Eve off, my dh didn't, but he had enough vacation, not to mention that I'm a SAHM.

A 14 month old does need constant supervision. On the street for sure. In a restaurant there is a little bit more slack, although not in the dining area where there is hot food being carried....

I get why they'd want more space. But that's clearly not all they want. They could build a 4000 square foot house that would be plenty of space and not cost anywhere near the million dollar range....
