I haven't seen anyone suggest, in this thread, that it's wrong to pierce a child's ears when the child asks. The argument is over non-consensual piercing, not the general piercing of a child's ears....

I'd never have my infant's ears pierced, and the idea really bothers me too. Seeing baby girls with earrings looks really bizarre to me, in the same way that putting lipstick or mascara on them...
