Mothering Magazine and Whole Foods Market® Partner to Launch Informational Lecture Tour about Benefits of Natural Parenting

"Whole Baby" Program Introduces New Moms to Advantages of Natural and Organic Lifestyle

Santa Fe, New MexicoMothering magazine, the world’s leading natural family living magazine, and Whole Foods Market, the world’s leading natural and organic foods supermarket, are proud to announce the birth of "Whole Baby," an informative program for expectant moms. The Whole Baby program is a natural companion for a healthy pregnancy and baby, helping moms-to-be gear up for taking care of their growing families by providing information on nutrition and lifestyle topics ranging from prenatal care to baby’s first foods.

"Working side-by-side with Whole Foods Market on the Whole Baby program is a natural extension of our mission," said Peggy O’Mara, editor and publisher of Mothering magazine. "Our magazine recognizes parents as experts and provides them with information upon which they can base informed choices. Whole Foods Market has a very similar relationship of trust with its shoppers, so we’re very excited about working together on the Whole Baby initiative."

Whole Baby follows Whole Foods Market’s tradition of exceptional customer service and education by providing natural parenting information in the form of:

  • FREE educational booklets available at Whole Foods Market stores. These easy-to-use guides contain money-saving coupons for natural products as well as important nutrition and lifestyle recommendations for during and after pregnancy

  • FREE Whole Baby sample kits. These reusable canvas tote bags will be distributed through a national network of childbirth education partners. The bags contain product samples, information, and special offers—redeemable at Whole Foods Markets—from Mothering magazine, Burt’s Bees, Earth’s Best, Hyland’s, Seventh Generation, Stonyfield Farms, and Traditional Medicinals.

  • FREE Whole Baby lecture series, which will begin this fall and focus on the joys and key elements of natural pregnancy and childbirth. Following a special sneak preview in Austin on August 30, these informative talks will kick off in New York City on September 22, followed by Philadelphia on September 26, Chicago on October 12, and Atlanta on October 15. Find registration information and more details about these limited-seating events at: www.wholebabylecture.com

The lectures will offer an opportunity to learn from national experts Kimber Pasquali, Resource and Web Editor at Mothering magazine, and Jody Villecco, Food and Nutrition Quality Standards Coordinator at Whole Foods Market. Both speakers will share their expertise on—and passion for—topics such as dietary building blocks for healthy mothers and babies, recipes for making natural baby food, breastfeeding, and natural products for pregnancy, baby care, and beyond.

For 30 years, Mothering magazine has provided readers with the latest information on raising healthy children naturally. Articles cover pregnancy, childbirth, midwifery, breastfeeding, educational alternatives, and family health issues. Check out www.mothering.com
