Edmund
C. Arranga is the co-founder of Autism One, a charity organization
devoted to the care, treatment, and recovery of children with autism.
Currently, a diagnosis of autism comes with the prognosis of forever
and nothing could be further from the truth. Our children get better;
some recover completely given the proper treatments and therapies. The autism epidemic strikes 1 out of every 150 children, 1 out of every 90 boys. Mired in myth autism is not a disorder, a male type of intelligence, or a psychiatric condition. Autism is a multi-system disease observed in neurological, gastrointestinal, endocrine, immune, developmental, and communicative abnormalities. Multidisciplinary in presentation and cure the disease bows to the collective weight of doctors working with therapists working with educators working with researchers working with parents working to recover their children. The Autism One conference annually brings together leading authorities to educate parents and professionals about the most effective treatments and therapies, foster communication among the various autism communities, and promote continuing research. Autism One engages in outreach initiatives, supports community programs, promotes legislative action, and maintains a continuing dialogue with parents and professionals. Edmund is the father of 9-year-old boy with autism who continues to make remarkable progress. He is currently writing a book about autism.
