Michele Mason is the mother of three children and the Founder and Director of the Child-Friendly Initiative (CFI) a grass-roots non-profit organization.

Child-Friendly Initiative, Inc. has the mission to provide families and the community-at-large with information and practical tools to facilitate positive and respectful interaction with the children in our midst. CFI is developing a forum for the discussion of issues that result from these efforts, and is working to create substantial change in the lack of available resources and pervasiveness of negative attitudes that affect the children of our world.

Michele has worked as an Educator and Lactation Specialist with mothers and expectant couples for the past twelve years, it is through this work that she discovered the need for an organization that will support families that are raising small children. She is an advocate for children and their care providers, and has appeared on the Donahue Show and ABC's 20/20. Michele also serves on The Mother's Council in New York City.

She lives in San Francisco with her husband Daniel and their children; Antoinette, Hannah and Marcus.
