Battling vaccine-induced autism

Pure sodium is rare and beautiful
To see it though requires a sculptor’s art
You have to slice the oxidized and dull
To glimpse the silver shimmer at the heart

Inept sculptor easing my scalpel across
The surface of my son searching for shimmers
Of eye contact, affection, communication
Knowing with an instant’s inattention his progress corrodes

My son’s pure soul is rare and glorious
Corroding in the atmosphere of words
I gently slice remembering as I do
Pure sodium is rare and beautiful.
