Support Breastfeeding Mothers
On June 11, Representative Carolyn B. Maloney (NY) and Senator Jeff Merkley (OR) introduced the Breastfeeding Promotion Act in both houses of Congress. This is the first time the bill has been introduced in the Senate.
More than 50 percent of women with babies less than one-year-old are in the workforce. This bill will protect breastfeeding mothers from discrimination in the workplace, provide them with a safe place to pump, and make it possible for them to obtain the support and equipment necessary to succeed at breastfeeding. Show your support for mothers and babies by writing to Congress through the United States Breastfeeding Committee's action page.
