This past weekend I became a certified children’s yoga instructor!  Did you even know kids yoga is a thing? For my own kids I started writing down some of the lessons I’ve learned from my own yoga practice I’d like them to know as early as possible. So I wrote a little book today that one day I’ll have time to illustrate. Feel free to share this with your kids if you’d like to. My son gave it a thumbs up which is all that really matters.

I Want You To Know

I want you to know if you ever feel small you are the biggest part of me.

The universe is great and wonderful, and full of boundless joy and so are you.

There is magic even when grown-ups forget. There are miracles and you were mine.

If everything is overwhelming and chaotic, come to rest under a tree and read an old book quietly. And breathe.

You are strong and not just in your muscles, in your mind. You can dream big. I believe in you.

If you’re ever afraid of the dark, think of your wide open heart reaching out in every direction like a bright star.

Have gratitude for all these gifts and know that more are on their way.

You are more than just your body. You are billions of atoms vibrating with energy.

You may be young but there is an infinite soul inside you that is wise.

Be kind with your words and truthful. With people and creatures big and small take good care of them all.

I want you to know your thoughts have power so think positively. The world is what you make it.

Nothing stays the same. Things come and go. I’ll love you forever is all I know.

All the best and brightest in me sees the same in you my shining sun.

  1. This is really nice. I can totally see this as a children’s yoga book. I think you should really do it.
I picture each line/statement showcasing a different yoga pose to help reinforce the pose and teach kids about how strong they are, their world around them and gratitude. Really great.

  2. Love this! I’m reading this as I get ready for yoga this morning. Yoga has become such a big part of my life. In this crazy world it’s so nice to have at least an hour of calm in the day and it always makes me feel like I can conquer the world after. I would love fleet my kids to start doing yoga as well. As an artist when I was reading this I was picturing what I would draw for each saying or how my daughter who’s a great little artist would interpret the saying and how she would illustrate it. Would be an adorable book!
