What's the best/easiest way to get rid of a small skin tag?  I've got one on my shoulder blade and it drives me insane as I feel really self conscious about wearing strappy tops incase people can see it... (Don't know why, it just bugs me!)

I don't really want to go to the Drs (mainly because my GP is not particularly friendly) and would rather just do whatever needs doing at home but never having had one before I have no idea what to do!

Any experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I heard teatree oil works well.

If you tie a piece of strong thread or dental floss very tightly around the base of it, it will drop off after a few days.

Just clip it off. Seriously. It will hurt briefly and then you'll be done!

I used to have several skin tags (like 15+) in my armpits. They had been there for about five years and I was really self conscious about them. I snipped them off about eight years ago, and they've never come back!

Here's the process I used:

Have a shower and wash the area well.

Gather a few cotton balls or pieces of gauze.

Use rubbing alcohol to clean a pair of nail clippers (if it's a large skin tag that won't fit in the clippers, then clean a pair of small sharp scissors).

Clean the area with rubbing alcohol and let it dry.

Hold an ice cube on the spot for a few minutes to numb things a bit.

Take the ice cube off, quickly snip off the tag, and then put the cotton ball on the area and hold pressure for a few minutes.

Gently lift the cotton off. If it's still bleeding, put the same cotton back down and hold it for a few minutes longer. If it has stopped bleeding, then take the cotton off.

That's it! Yes, it hurts. The most pain comes right when you're cutting it, but it's still a little achy after that until things heal up.

Prior to this, I tried tea tree oil (did nothing) and tying floss and string around the tag (hurt severely--worse than cutting it--and the string eventually fell off but the tag did not).

Just cut it off tonight and be done with it!

Just came from the dermatologist today to have some of those nasty skin tags zapped off.  I know they are going to look a little unsightly for a week or so but after that it will look as if I never had them to begin with.

I used to have lots of skin tags and went to the dermatologist to have them removed every couple of years. They just snipped them off with surgical scissors similarly to what the PP described. If you have any big ones they might bleed a lot so you might want to have something on hand to stop the bleeding if you do it yourself. Thankfully since I've been eating a very low carb diet the past two years I haven't had any recurrence of them.

Banana peel is another effective remedy for skin tags due to its strong antioxidant properties. Also, the enzymes present in the banana peel help dissolve the tags naturally. Cut a small piece of banana peel and place the inside part of it over the tag. Wrap a bandage over the peel and leave it on overnight. The next morning, remove the peel and wash the area with water. Repeat every night for a few days until your skin tag drops off.

You can use apple cider vinegar for skin tag removal. Apple cider vinegar is the best home remedy for skin tags. The acid in apple cider vinegar breaks down the excess cells in the skin tag and naturally removes them.

We've always used Oregano essential oil dabbed on a Qtip and applied to the area. If it stings to much, you can use a carrier oil such as coconut oil to lower the potency. Once it's applied, put a band-aid over the area.

It usually just takes a week or so of doing this at night time.

Best of luck!

Here are some effective natural tips for removing skin tags that I found really effective.

1. A very popular method is to first cleanse the area. Then, tie some cotton or floss around the base or stalk of the skin tag to cut off circulation. You can then either wait for the skin tag to fall off or snip it off with medical scissors or clippers. This might bleed a little, but it should not be a lot if you have done it correctly. Always ensure you disinfect the area afterwards and seek medical advice before attempting such a procedure.

2. You can use Preparation H, I promise it works. Just rub a little on the skin tag two or three times a day and it will fall off. My ex did it and it works!!!! Good luck!

3. This method is a less painful method (than clipping) and results can be seen pretty fast. What you need is some baking soda and castor oil. With these two ingredients, prepare a concoction by mixing the two together thoroughly until they form a gooey paste. Apply at least 3 times every day on the skin tags. The skin tags would dry up and die off in around 2 weeks. So If you're looking for a way of how to get rid of skin tags, must try it.

4. My dermatologist recommend me using Tretinoin cream or gel on it. Tretinoin is easy to use as a non surgical method. When you put it, the next few days will be kind of red and dry but that's normal. Then it'll turn brown and fall off the skin.

Regular use of olive oil can help you.

I had some small skin tags on my face. And it's so annoying. Then I used a treatment with tea tree oil and succeed in getting rid of it forever. You need to soak a cotton ball in water and squeeze it out, then add a few drops of tea tree oil to the cotton ball. Apply it over the affected skin before gently massaging in the circular motions and keep it for several hours and then rinse it off.

Soak a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar and apply it over the skin tag. Use this remedy for about a month for complete removal of skin tag.

Apple Cider Vinegar works really well for removing/dissolving skin tags in any part of the body and the best part is that it doesn't even leave any scars behind once the skin tag is removed.Take a cotton ball soaked with apple cider vinegar and hold it on top of your skin tag for 5-10 minutes preferably at night, leave it like that and rinse off the next morning. Continue the same process for around a couple of weeks to see some evident results until the skin tag completely dissolves. The procedure is absolutely painless and is proven to work time and again. I've seen them removed by tying them off at the base and then letting it fall off. It depends on the size and probably better to have a professional do it

Hanging moles, or rather papillomas, are not difficult to remove: by current, radio wave, liquid nitrogen or laser. At least one of these methods, in fact, in any beauty salon .. they also say that they burn celandine or iodine ..

Hello everybody. Thank you for sharing this useful info. I would like to tell you about my experience of fighting skin tags. Last summer a lot of skin tags started to appear underarms. I tried to rip off one, but it was bleeding a lot, so I’ve got scared and didn’t touch them at all. But having them even underarms made me feel unconfident. I found a lot of useful info on skintagsoff.com and realized that ripping them off is the worst thing you can do to your skin. I tried a few recommended creams there. I just simply ordered them on Amazon. After a few days my skin tags have gone without leaving a mark or a scar.
