Hey, it's Thanksgiving, it seemed like the thing to do.

last time I had a carbonated, caffienated beverage with HFCS as the main ingredient was almost 2 years ago, before I gave sodas up as a New Year's resolution.

Next thing you know, I'll be eating meat again.

Okay, maybe not.

I've never found cola to be a satisfying drink. I always thought it tasted like drinking brown sugar water. but I liked the bubbles. so now i drink club soda with a bit of lemon.
the thought of a coke makes me want to barf.

How did it taste? Was it sickeningly sweet? I gave up sodas for a long time, and I remember having one and it was really gross.

It's so funny how different we can all be. I drink a soda or two every week usually.

But yea, if you're going to do it I guess this is the time of year to go for it!

I'm close. I've been having one a week lately. I gave up sodas for a long time, and the first one afterwards tasted disgusting. It was a mountain dew... I got really, really sick to my stomach!

Me and DH had root beer with dinner. We have a soda maker, so we buy extract and make it with organic sugar. So, no HFCS, no caffiene, not toooo bad.
We did eat turkey, but we raised it ourselves.
(although I was lazy, and bought canned cranberry sauce, and didn't realize it was made with HFCS,: that crap is everywhere!)

We're soda fiends at this house, but since we're in an apartment that's in a "lower income" part of town, if you get my meaning it means the tap water is not the ... "best" ... and so, we are cola fans. Everything else is just too darn sweet for my taste. Now, when we lived in Seattle ... tap water all the time.

I like Coke, but I drink the caffeine free regular kind when I can get it.

Pepsi, however, YUCK! I have to put lemon in that stuff to drink it!

Coke is one of the things I've had major cravings for during my pregnancy. But it HAS to be a fountain drink, with lots of ice. If it's from a bottle or can, forget it, then it's just gross.

Probably not the best thing to drink, but it's one of the few things that helps alleviate my awful all day long morning sickness, so I'm going to going to indulge.

I like it over ice as a treat.

Straight from a can or bottle is too concetrated.

I drank it straight from the can, and it wasn't any more sickeningly sweet than the pie I'd eaten. It made me thirsty, though.

I don't tolerate HFCS (skin problems, gut), but I do like coke classic. I just go without most of the year. Right before Passover, I can buy 2L bottles of coke made with cane sugar. You have to make sure it's the kosher-for-Passover stuff, which has a hechsher on the lid.

I generally dislike plastic-bottled soda (taste is off), but I get a couple bottles of the Passover coke so that I can have a small glass every now and then. It's also a big hit at my summer parties. It tastes so much better than the HFCS stuff.

Chasing DS since April 2007 and pumping for DD March 2013.

Oh! Oh! Me too! Me too! I had my first coke in years yesterday, it was only 1/2 a glass, with ice and it was so good! I don't know what it was, because previously cokes made me sick, but this was like a special treat. I was so giddy - I felt so naughty!

Apparently Mexican Coke is made with Cane sugar as well.

And it's more readily available than the Kosher type depending where you live.

I R a Soda Fiend. I know it's bad for me..but..

Oh Pepsi Why Cant I quit you???

Oh Shweppes Raspberry Gingerale, Why Cant I quit you???

*sigh*

mmmm.. The addiction of HFCS....I know it's bad..but....it's SOOOOO good.....

Kinda like that Lords of Acid Song....Out Comes The Evil

PS I'd rather have HFCS than Asparatame any day. Asparatame THAT is The nastyest most icky concoction ever created...at least HFCS is *sort* of natural....Asparatame is *not*

(n Asparatame gives me the worst migraines ever ever... : : )

We only get the coke w/sugar, no hfcs here... and it's so easy to find too... watch for the yellow swirl on the box instead of the silver/red ones.
