Aspiring Certified Nurse Midwife in Austin TX
So, I am really passionate about becoming a midwife. I'm currently researching options of CPM vs CNM.
At first I felt like becoming a CPM was the most practical way to go, and very well may be, because I am a homeschooling mom to 3 small children. I checked out many long distance programs and became very impressed with Mercy In Action's long distance program.
Now I am considering going further and becoming a certified nurse midwife. I'm just not sure how that works out. I'm in Austin, Tx. There are no nurse-midwife programs available here that I've found.
So my question is this: In order to become a CNM would I need to go through a nursing program then midwife program or visa versa? I would really would love to enroll in Mercy In Action's long distance program if that was an option.
Also does anyone have any suggestions for an aspiring CNM?
