Baby Blood Type

I want to know what will be the blood type of my baby.

Mine is O and my hubby's AB.
I checked with a blood type calculator and it says there is a possibility of my child having only A and B.

Why no O?

Think its because you don't have a recessive O gene.

It's because O blood is recessive and A and B blood are dominant. Recessive genes or in this case blood type, are not expressed in the presance of a dominant gene or blood type. I'm a visual person so it might make more sense if you look at it like this. Your O blood type is written like this ii (supposed to be in italics but you get the idea), you got one i from each of your parents (since you have two recessive genes the recessive trait is expressed, in this case O blood). Your DH's blood type is written AB he also got one letter from each of his parents (both A and B types are expressed since they are both dominant). You could only give your baby an i, your DH gave either an A or a B. That makes your baby blood type Ai or Bi. So your baby does have an O blood type gene it just does not show up on a blood test because the A or B type gene are dominant. I hope that did not confuse you to much

I'm no help to this; sorry. My husband and I have the same blood type, and so does our first. It makes it pretty easy to remember, lol.
