5 y.o. Exessive water drinking/ urinating

Seven days ago my son began drinking water excessively and urinating large volume, though proportionate to water consumed. He was examined by our Pediatrician who didn't feel it was due to diabetes or disease.
His urine testing is normal (glucose, keytone, leukocyte, protein, pH, bilirubin, specific gravity, blood , etc).
His energy seems good, as well as a normal appetite.
Thoughts and ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I think sometimes we equate the warm weather with an increased need for water, and it often is. However, in my experience, sometimes my children and I are just as thirsty, if not more, in the months where we are using the heater.

I think also our body can signal an increased need for water if we are trying to fight off an illness or recover from an exposure to something.

I don't know if any of these pertain to your son, but these have been my experiences.

It's good to know there isn't any real medical reason for his intake/output, and just something he needs for the time being.

Blessings!
