So excited to be back here after so many years. Expect babe to arrive Sept. 20th.

Name: Karen
Age: 34
Location: Maryland

How long it took you to get your BFP/if this is a surprise baby: Took about a year of trying and I was actually giving up when it happened.

Family
: This is baby #4 - my others are 19, 4, 6 right now.

Baby's gender
: won't find out - would be happy to have a fourth girl.

Birth plans/preferences:
This will be our 3rd homebirth.

Anything else you would like to share: I am very confident that I know the exact day babe will arrive - on my first child's birth day -- to make exactly 20 years between my oldest and youngest - how crazy. I'd actually decided to stop TTC when I realized my oldest would be 20 because that number freaked me out for some reason.

I am not telling anyone for a while, so happy to have some online friends to chat pregnancy with.

Karen happily married mother of 3 great children (19, 6, 5), in my last semester for my Masters in Nutrition and started a six-month internship.

Due Date : Sept 30/ Oct 1
Child #: 4

Name: Bela
Age: 30
Location: Taunton, England
How long it took you to get your BFP/if this is a surprise baby: Surprise baby
Family (spouse, other children, pets, etc.): DH:29, DS: 4, DD: 2, DD: 12 months
Baby's gender (hopes/guesses): I am hoping for a boy to even it out but either is fine with us!
Birth plans/preferences: hoping they will let me use the birth centre as it is connected to the hospital here but will have to see. I am considered high risk due to having 2 c-sections (last was a natural in hospital VBAC!) and taking lovenox shots.
Anything else you would like to share: All my babies are 20/21 months apart. I am starting a part-time program in April to get my MA in Library Studies. This baby was a complete surprise and I am still getting over the shock of it but have already started the baby names list too. We are living in England while my DH gets his PhD from the University of Exeter but are oringally from the USA.

Hello! I posted an intro. On the other thread but wasn't quite ready to join the roll. Decided to jump in with my eyes closed...

EDD is 9/1. This is my 3rd pregnancy, hoping for my second child (rainbow).

DS is 5 & will be 6 by the time baby comes. He's so excited!!

I'm 37. I live in the Midwest. I miscarried in May 2014 & we've been more or less TTC ever since. Needless to say we're ecstatic but guarded.

Heard a healthy heart beat at 7 weeks & I'm now 9 weeks--2 weeks to go to pass the point at which I miscarried last time.

Let's see... Planning a homebirth with a CNM practice. I birthed in the hospital last time & had an awesome midwifery team but hated the postpartum recovery in hospital. But I'm open to being transferred if necessary--I have no expectations.

I'm a lawyer by day, mom all the time. DH is the primary caregiver in our house though I'm dreaming up a nice, long maternity leave (been saving every possible vacation day for the past 2 years)!

I have an almost-defunct blog (www.momjd.wordpress.com) that I constantly wish I'd have the time to update. I kinda gave it up after the miscarriage but maybe I'll revive it.

Happy pregnancy!

Mama to my little busy bee.

Hello!

Name: Anjea ("ON-jay")

Age: 34 (35 in February)

Location: Austin, TX

How long it took you to get your BFP/if this is a surprise baby: 3 cycles; 2nd cycle was a chemical pregnancy. This is the same thing that happened with DD.

Family (spouse, other children, pets, etc.): DH Jason, DD Kiarda (age 4.5), dog Bunsen (Siberian Husky, age 10)

Baby's gender (hopes/guesses): No idea. Don't care. Just hope there is only one and that it is healthy. DH wants a boy this time around.

Birth plans/preferences: Scheduled C-section. I discovered the first time around that 3.5 hours of unmedicated, unrelenting transition because your pelvis doesn't expand HURTS.

Blog/website/etc: I have one on Blogger, but it's viewable by invitation only. It's mostly for family and friends who live far from us.

EDD: September 22, but I suspect it will change.
Baby #3

Name:
Julie

Age: 29

Location: Wisconsin (outside of Madison)

How long it took you to get your BFP/if this is a surprise baby: Surprise baby!

Family (spouse, other children, pets, etc.): DH, DD (age 4 in March) and DS (2 in March)

Baby's gender (hopes/guesses): No idea, another girl would be nice but no big deal either way.

Birth plans/preferences: Unmedicated hospital birth with midwife. I wanted a homebirth this time around but we had to move suddenly when DH changed jobs in August so we are renting an apartment right now and I am not sure I would be comfortable here.

I'm guessing this baby will come sometime close to September 18th.

My 23-month-old daughter, my husband and I live near Philly. We're temporarily renting a house from a friend, and we don't know where we'll be living after a year or two... I'm inclined to drive around the country in our Vanagon.

No furry family right now, though I'd love to adopt a pair of ratties.

I had exactly one postpartum period before getting pregnant again. I had made no prediction I'd be pregnant/nursing for like five years straight!

No hunch on gender, and don't care either way. As someone above me said, I'm hoping for just one in there.

Planning on/hoping for another lovely birth center experience. I had to be on drip antibiotics last time for GBS+, needed to take castor oil for induction, and ended up hemorrhaging quite a bit & requiring major reconstruction, but I'd do it all over in a heartbeat. And I will! (Maybe even in the water this time. Fingers casually crossed.)

I'm 30. Will be baby number 1 if all goes well. Still on tenterhooks :-) Due Sept 27 (day before my birthday!)

So far only a little morning sickness in week 4 (found out quite early as I ovulate on day 10). The emotions have been REALLY INTENSE. Anybody else feeling intense rage for no reason? Almost called myself angrybaby.

I believe birth is totally natural and a beautiful right of passage. I haven't been able to find my tribe of women where I live yet so I'm really happy to have found these forums. Lovely to meet you all!

I'm another Sarah and am due September 21 (or 24, depending on who you ask!) with TWINS after almost a year of trying to concieve. We're in the Boston area and they're first babies for both me and my wife. (Also first grandchildren on all sides!) I think that the twins means that I'll have to have a hospital birth, and I'm not thrilled about it. I'm also overwhelmed by figuring out everything for twins: how to wear them, sleep them, nurse them...eek! Looking forward to hearing from other mamas who have been through this one!

How long it took to get your BFP: 4 months
Family: 1 husband, 1 2.5 year old son, 2 cats, some reptiles
Baby's gender (hopes/guesses) I'm thinking this one may be a girl because I feel very different this time around
Birth Plans/preferences: I had my son at Sutter Davis Hospital which was a wonderful experience. I had a very long labor (over 40 hours) and delivered him posterior. I will be returning there for this pregnancy. The quality of care is outstanding and they are very hands off/respectful. I hope for a shorter labor this time, unmedicated, and possibly a tub birth. That still freaks hubby out a bit. We shall see. I'll take unmedicated in any form!

Thanks! Depending on when I ovulated, it's either September 20 or October 3... I go for my dating scan in five days and will update then. If I'm due in early October, you gals won't kick me out, right!?!?!?

(2.) What number child this is for you, and if it is a rainbow baby Baby number 6 we hope. We also have 5 babies Heaven.

Name: Jennifer

Age: 32

How long it took you to get your BFP/if this is a surprise baby: We don't ttc or tta, but my cycle came back in October and I had a really early miscarriage the cycle before this baby.

Family (spouse, other children, pets, etc.): Husband of almost 12 years, 11 year old son, 8 year old daughter, 6 year old son, 4 year old daughter, and next week our youngest daughter will be 23 months old. We also have a Jack-Chi dog. He's small and stinky.

Baby's gender (hopes/guesses): In all honesty, we're praying for boy/girl twins. My 6yo son desperately wants a baby brother, but we would love whatever we got.

Birth plans/preferences: We are praying for our 5th UC.

This is my first baby, due Sept 21 (but who knows, my cycle's wonky). Name's Jessica, 21 years old, ON Canada.
This baby is a welcome surprise to me, but not the FOB, because I had an IUD. Looks like I'm going this alone.
In terms of family, I'll try to move back in with my dad and step-mother, and my brother will be around all summer, age 20. We also have a chocolate lab, Kallie.
I'm hoping it's a girl because FOB was a self-proclaimed "bastard child", and I was apparently an angel.
Hoping for a home birth, maybe in a tub. If I can't get a midwife, I'll get a doula.
I'm pleased to see so many people from different walks of life, although I do see some trends. Seems like I'm the youngest here, so far!

Welcome Irrational! Don't worry, you're not that young at all, it's just that most of us are on baby #2 + (if you scan down the list on page 1 of roll call.) I had my first at 22. She'll be 7 when this one is born though!

I'm proud of you for going it alone. I've heard many success stories, and have had to do the single mom thing myself for a time. I'm glad to hear you have lots of support though! Best wishes for a happy healthy pregnancy!

@Irrational , think of it this way, you have more energy and vibrance to stay up all night and all day with a baby than us old fogies. I wish I had the energy now that I had in my early 20s!! And I'm only 32!! My Mom had me when she was 20, and there are so many benefits to having children young. Don't listen to the naysayers. How wonderful that you have a supportive family around to help as well. Congratulations!

Yep! I'm super excited to have jumped ahead by a week or so! Now we're just anxiously awaiting the results of our genetic testing to see if there are any potential problems and what the gender is. I only wish the test would tell me blood type, but the midwife said it won't. *sigh*

@funfunkyfantastic , I am waiting to get results back from Maternit21 as well. I won't be finding out gender, DH convinced me to be surprised this time but I soooo want to know what it is!!! Kind of hoping I accidentally find out. Isn't that awful? It would be nice to know blood type. Fx for you!

Wife to DH, stay at home mama to DD1 (10.01.13) and DD2 (09.24.15)! Expecting #3 Sept 2018
