Lets get this thing started shall we?

Hey everyone. So Im figuring that people should start flocking in anytime now. Thought it may be nice to start our introductions early since we'll all be in the same due date club for the next eight/ nine months.

Anyone I'll start. Hi. I'm Emily and this will be my second child. My first was born Nov15 2014. Just a little over a year old now.

I'm 23 and live with my boyfriend Mike. We're the weird couple that doesn't believe in marriage.

So I did my math and realized that the last time we had unprotected sex was just as I was ovulating. I knew early into the next week that I was pregnant. Had too many signs pointing it out to not be preggers.

But this is going to be a hard one for me too. Shortly after my first child, the old issue of my eating disorder resurfaced. When we conceived this baby I was 107lb. Over the last few weeks I've bulked back up to 117. I know that I need this but everything in me is saying that 10 pounds over 5 weeks is disgusting. Guess I'll learn to deal with this though.

So, overview. Emily, 23, second child, estimated due date Sept4, currently 5 weeks preggers.

I'm Laura, 2nd child, just turned 34. We also DTD right when I was ovulating (certain sources say this increases your likelihood of conceiving a boy). We live in LA right now, hoping to move up to Oregon in the near future (that's where we met and feel more comfortable). I'm 4 weeks pregnant, due 9/15.

I had anorexia when I was a teenager, it was the most difficult experience of my life thus far. The only real "cure" that worked for me was loving myself no matter what, which has been a long journey. There aren't any easy solutions to eating disorders, imo, it requires dedication to healing what is plaguing your mind and heart.

It sure is quiet in here I've noticed the DDCs are pretty quiet in general these days. I had a different username when I was pregnant with DD, I was apart of a DDC back then and it was much more active.

Hi! I'm Erica. I'm expecting #3 probably around Sept. 6th (I get different due dates depending on how I calculate). I'm 28, married, and I have a 5-year-old daughter and a 18-month-old daughter.

Hi there!
Congrats to you both.
So you guys ready for the nausea, back pains, and sinus infections?

I don't know about you two but with my last pregnancy I was sick at least once a month from the second trimester till my son was born.

Hello,

I have 3 living kids, lost 3 between my 6 yr old and my 2 yr old twins, who were my last pregnancy before this one. I am an infertility patient due to the recurrent miscarriages and am really hoping this baby makes it.

I've been a nervous wreck all day waiting for my blood draw results. Hcg and progesterone . My nurse said she'd call this afternoon.

29 4 weeks 2 days pregnant. Due sept 20th. Little different then most of you so far. I'm married to my wife Mellissa and used a sperm doner and at home artificial insemination. We only did two cycles and succeeded (which is quite rare). Can't wait to have a bunch of people in the same boat to chat with. I already feel a lot better about this little sinus infection I developed basically right after implantation. Congrats to everyone. And baby dust to the hopefully here checking in.

Hi all! I just found out I'm pregnant with baby #2!! Based on my last period, due date would be 9/17 but between November 10th and December 10th I had 3 periods. They were about 2 weeks apart from each other and lasted a week each, so that is very strange to me. Especially since we had to try to get pregnant with our daughter for well over a year (she is 2.5 now) and 6 months ago we were ttc again with no luck and now it happens. We are very excited but we are also very shocked! I have my first ob appt on feb 5th, but I am going to call them back tomorrow and ask if they will do a dating ultrasound just to make sure the due date is right, especially with having those weird periods. I'm excited to get to know you all over the next several months and wish everyone the best.

Hi everyone!

I'm Jasmine. I am estimating 4 weeks, 2 days pregnant with a due date of September 27 or 28. However, based on the fact my son Laszlo (4) was born at 10 days past his due date, I'm trying to convince myself that my due date is more like October 5th or 6th

I'm a 27 year old Mother to one. Wife to Elliot, 28. We live in rural NW Washington state, on the Peninsula.

I am extremely crunchy! This will be a vegan pregnancy. I will be co-sleeping and breastfeeding. Not sure about an out-of-hospital birth this time around - last time we attempted an out-of-hospital birth, but I had a hospital transfer. I'll be interviewing midwives in my area.

Congratulations, everyone!

Hi,
I'm a mom to many angels and a special needs preschooler. I work from home (own a marketing business), and we are expecting our next miracle rainbow around Sept. 10th-ish. I'm on progesterone for this pregnancy, and so far it's doing its job. Fingers and toes and everything else crossed! I'll be 37 when this baby is born, so the doctors are keeping a close eye on me. LOL

Hi there! I'm Chrissy. I'm 32. This will be our second child. My first will be 2 on February 7th As an only child, I am beyond excited for our new addition. My husband and I were TTC. Due to breastfeeding, my period didn't even come back until my son was 21 months old. It was only my second cycle. Considering that I have irregular periods, we are extremely excited and feel so lucky! I'm also so relieved and thrilled that I didn't have to wean my son to conceive. My only saving grace is knowing my body well enough to know when I'm ovulating. I had unmistakable menstrual like cramps around the time of implantation. I knew for sure the pregnancy test would be positive. I took one nearly every morning until finally, a faint line appeared. Now I'm about 5 weeks, and far enough along that its a definite line. I'm planning to continue nursing my son as long as possible. In fact, I have always idolized the idea of tandem nursing. So, fingers crossed on that front.
My biggest concern for this pregnancy is my weight. Going into my pregnancy with my first, I was pretty fit. I continued to run (up to 10 miles at a time - I was doing this before I got pregnant with him) until I was 7 months pregnant. This time around, I injured my achilles over the summer and quickly put on about 15 pounds. I still exercise a lot, but not to the extent I did with my first. I'm hoping to not gain too much during this pregnancy and stay as active and as fit as I can to avoid any complications. My first was an unmedicated hospital birth with a midwife and next to zero complications. I'm hoping for the same this time around.
I look forward to getting to know the rest of the "crew"

And... I should add. According to date of ovulation, I'm due September 27th.

I have my first midwife and early ultrasound appointment when I'll be about 10 weeks along.

Welcome Chrissy! I'm a marathon runner (20 including 2 50ks) and can sympathize with weight concerns. I have already gained weight but I feel so sick when I'm hungry that I tend to gain more at the beginning. I just read on the Brewer diet website the dangers of mom not gaining enough weight.

We share a due date! Congrats. However, my son was born at about 42 weeks. I imagine you'll deliver before me.

Hi there, I am 33 years old with six children already, 5 boys and 1 girl. Eight children with my boyfriend's boys. I am a little surprised to be here because I was on birth control, but we're happy all the same. I am not super sure of my last period because I was spotting a lot with the new birth control but my best guess gives me a Sept. 9th due date. I really am hoping for a girl. I'm fresh out of boys names! My oldest is 13 and youngest 4. Next year all the kids were going to be in school. Back to square one in that regard. I guess I'm still in shock even though we got the positive more than 2 weeks ago. I had already kind of resolved that the baby part of my life was probably over, have given away all my baby things, working full-time. So much to do! Not sure if I'll be able to birth unassisted at home as is my preference, may compromise with my boyfriend on that. Aleast I think I'll qualify for maternity leave. I'd rather stay home with baby until done breastfeeding, 2 yrs. atleast, but not sure if we can afford to. I've never left my babies when they are tiny tiny and just the thought makes my heart hurt. Well that deteriorated into a ramble! At least I have the pregnancy brain excuse now. Congratulations to everyone here!! Look forward to sharing the journey!

Hi everyone! Excited to finally join another DDC. : I'm 26, married, and have a 5 year old son. My son was an all natural birth in a hospital with a midwife however, midwives where we currenrly live don't deliver in hospitals so we're looking into a birth center or home birth. (I work in the medical field and am a little scared of the idea of "what if something happens" during a home birth. Opinions and thoughts on the subject?) We have been TTC for about a year now and I'm estimating a due date of September 23rd. I had a wonderful DDC experience on here during my last pregnancy and am looking forward to getting to know everyone!

To both Chrissy and Edelweiss98, I have issues with weight gain also, but not for the same reasons. Though I can definitely sympathize.
I've been dealing with my eating disorder for a long time and totally flipped my shit when I found out I was pregnant again.

And for those that I talk to in brief about it earlier, after I had a really bad relapse I've decided to go on a mild antidepressant. I am by no means a fan of using medication during pregnancy, but this last time I didn't so much as even drink a calorie for three days. In my case, i figure that the low chance of birth defects is better then the high chance of miscarriage or death of both of us.

Hopefully as I get further along I can come off of them and be ok in my own body.

Nature lady my sisters have had uncomplicated home births. It's definitely something I'd research , know where your close transfer hospital is if needed and of course you'd have to trust your midwives to make the call to transfer or not.

Starlit I really struggled with an eating disorder prior to my first pregnancy . I struggled somewhat with the wt gain but was able to be ok with it because it was for my baby. I was also seeing a PhD psychologist at the time for it and that helped.

I'm struggling with drinking enough now though. I can't drink any flavor of tea more than once or it makes me nauseated. I had 7 up a few days and now that is gross. I'm just sipping very icy water now but normally I am very hydrated and now I'm not and I don't know what to do because of the nausea.

I wish i could push through without medication. I've tried really hard to but in my case, the only person who knows about this is my primary doc. I imagine it would be easier to handle if my family and boyfriend knew but I can't tell them. I deff want to get off of them before my 3rd trimester 100% and I also don't take them everyday. Just as needed. If i wake up in the morning and try on all my clothes before settling back into my pajamas I know that I'll need them that day.

Hello all! I'm Amanda, 31, married and a first timer here with the forums, not the babes. I have 2 daughters (5 & 21 months) and a son (3). I've always imagined us with 4 kiddos but it still feels surreal that I'm writing that I'm due with #4 ! We're excited but after this one, hubby says DONE so I'm going to try and enjoy this pregnancy. We're not planning on telling anyone yet so it'll be nice to have people to chat and be excited with! With the holidays, I had forgot to write down AF so I really don't know my actual due date but would guess end of September. I meet with my OB next Thursday to confirm dates. Congrats to all and I'm looking forward to getting to know you and share this time!

Hi all!
Not sure I'm going to belong here, but figured I'd join for now until I'm far enough along to figure out dates.

This will be babe #4 , still nursing DD1 a little bit and only had one PP period with almost no signs of ovulating after it. So... my best guess right now is a due date (range) of somewhere between 27 Sept - 7 Oct. Since I usually go to 41 weeks I'll probably join the Oct DDC later.
Let's see, I'll be 35 soon, this will be another UC unless something starts to feel wrong (then I'll talk to one of the local midwives), I've had low progesterone in the past so am staying cautious about this pregnancy for now- excited but not too excited yet.

Sweetsriracha- Who knows. Last time I was just 2 days "overdue".

Edelweiss - My issues with weight and eating tend to be more towards the end of eating and gaining too much. I am currently overweight and I think I should be legitimately concerned about keeping my weight in check during my pregnancy. I'll have to talk to my midwife about what she thinks. I was thinking of veering towards the lesser weight gain recommendation for overweight women, unless my midwife says other wise. I'm really trying just to not eat much junk and stay active (and not binge eat).

Starlitjones - I think its great that you are taking care of yourself, even if that includes antidepressants. I have struggled with depression and anxiety my whole life. Medication can be such a big help. Be kind to yourself. Many women take antidepressants during pregnancy and have no adverse effects.

I'll be 6 weeks on Monday and so far only mild nausea. I'm expecting that it will hit this week, as it did last time.

Chirunner I think focusing on any healthy foods and protein would be a good idea. Have you looked at the Brewer diet? I just eat what doesn't make me sick at this stage but when the nausea subsides I'll really avoid sugar and other not so nourishing foods.

My ultrasound is this coming Wednesday but we're supposed to have a blizzard Tuesday so we'll see if we can make it . After that I plan to make an appointment with the midwives and see about switching over from my high risk OB I needed with my twins and for infertility. I really really want a VBAC and had unmedicated birth with my singleton and c section due to twin A presentation of footling breech.

Chirunner it's really a good diet for healthy babies. My twins were early but very good sized, actually ahead even for singleton growth and I really credit all the protein. With my daughter I just ate whatever , no special focus on protein and she was small for gestational age.

@Chirunner24 , I second the Brewer diet! Many women have told me really good things about it. I somewhat followed it with my last pregnancy, didn't keep track of anything, but am going to be doing it more purposefully this time. (I grow big babies though.)

Over the weekend I did some more calculating and combing over my chart and am pretty sure I'll be 6 weeks tomorrow. We don't do ultrasounds though so I'll have to wait to see if my fundal height matches up with those dates in a few weeks. No morning sickness yet, but we'll see what this week brings, lol.

@Edelweiss98 , is it a dating ultrasound? Or to check for multiples? If you don't mind me asking. I remember with my first two the nurse-midwife wouldn't do an ultrasound until after 12 weeks.

Steph Anie - both, this office does dating at 10 weeks . I'll be 10 on Friday . We had a super quick ultrasound that showed 1 but my doppler is picking up heartbeat on both sides. Now I'm really nervous. With my daughter I just had an 18 week scan but since I'm at a high risk infertility place now due to multiple miscarriages, they do 2 or more if there are problems.

Edelweiss, good luck! I am eager to hear what you learn at the Doctor's in regards to dating and two little heartbeats.

I ended up going with an OB this pregnancy, and I'm happy with that decision. We do have a decent CPM in this area, but I did have a hospital transfer with DS and this OB's practice is very crunch-friendly.

They did bloodwork on me (all good), but her practices doesn't do actual appointments with low-risk Mamas for appointments until 10 weeks unless there's a concern or issue. Is that usual?
