Hi Mamma's!

I was wondering if there is any interest in this product. My DH is a woodworker, and he made me a diaper cover drying device, not sure what to call it, it sits on top of my diaper table, since our changing area doesn't have room for a drying rack.

It has a fairly small footprint, and is a wooden round base, with a dowel coming out of it, at the top of the dowel is a hand-turned holder that you put your diaper cover on top of, inside out to dry. The holder section looks a bit like two turned handles with a square in the middle, it spreads the diaper cover slightly to allow air circulation inside the cover to allow for rapid drying. I find that normally (if the cover isn't totally soaked or my Aristocrats) I can have one cover dry by the time my other cover is wet and needs to go up.

Is this something anybody would be interested in? Not sure, since I've never seen something like it, I just comissioned DH to make it for me!

OMG That is cool!
I like the idea of having it double headed.
Is this expensive to make?

Jennifer, although you cannot link directly to your actual web page . . . you can upload the pictures on your server and then post them.

For instance, I posted your two pics like this:

Diaper Cover Stand and here it is with a diaper cover on it.

See - it just shows the pictures and doesn't lead directly to your site, whereas the page you've posted still has a link to your sales site, which is against the guidelines.

You can post pics in this way by uploading it to any particular web space and just posting that pictures' address. I use the 'http://' button that is above the posting screen when making a post to make it easier, but the language looks like this *replace parentheses with brackets when you actually do it*

(URL=http://www.telusplanet.net/public/purnima/images/dryerwithsoaker.jpg)here it is(/URL)

This link above (when brackets are put in place of parentheses) will show the words 'here it is' as a hyperlink to the actual picture.

HTH

I just wanted to say that I liked your daughters name!

Where did you hear it? I don't see very many people who spell it like I do.

Sorry Heather, I've changed the page, and updated the link above. I still wanted to include that text! Now it's on a seperate page from our moved notification .

ZanyMom - Kaelynn told me her name and how to spell it, before I conceived her. I was weeding the carrot patch last June when she whispered it into my ear. That's when I started talking to DH about getting pregnant. We said 'April would be a good time to have a baby, if we got pregnant in July we could have baby in April'. But we decided we should probablly wait, but all Kaelynn needed was the 'it would be okay if we had a baby right now' go ahead, and she was born April 10th!

Mona - the materials don't cost much at all, the main costs would be DH's labour and our overhead. I'd love to hear ideas about how much Mom's would be willing to pay for this. Cost viability study!

Would you be selling these to retailers too? this is a great idea, and is it possible to make them with like 6 holders?

I like that they can keep the diaper cover from losing its form, getting stretched out, allows circulation and is 'old fashioned' looking. I would 'second' trying to wholesale them to those that sell wool soakers!!!

We're definitely thinking about wholesaling them! I don't think that we could attract enough CD mamma's to our site, since we don't do diapering .

DH is working on the final version of the two-header for pictures.

Hmm, six holders, do you have a lot of kids in dipes? It could be done for sure, but would take a bunch more room, and be pricier, since it takes DH about 15 minutes to turn each head. We are looking into having a company custom turn them for us on their machines though!

Not a lot of kids in dipes(though some mamas do), but a lot of covers. I use wool, and save them up to wash a small load all at once, so there are usually 5-6 covers in there at a time. 4 would probably be plenty though. I think it is a great idea!!
