Talking October 2015 ddc and accuracy of dating ultrasound question

Hey out there! I can't be the only one expecting in October give a hi hello if you are due then too.

So my question is, anyone planning on a dating ultrasound? How much more accurate is it than the twenty week one? We basically know when we are due, does it matter a whole lot if the day is off by a bit either way? We only would want it for the date confirmation, that is all, none of the other early tests etc.

I used to know all this and totally forgot. And the main google results are "of course you need a dating ultrasound so you can get xyz tests and abc tests and etc". We aren't doing those tests, just dates, is it better or close enough? I need to start a journal of basic pregnancy questions asked and anwered. Mor at least a bookmarks folder. Lol

Never mind I answered my own question via google.co.uk (why is this not the first result on the us google? Oh well). If anyone was wondering, here it is, before 12 weeks it's accurate to within 5-3days, after that, ten days.

I don't have time for a long post, but I was also wondering about an October DDC. My EDD is October 3, 2015! What about you?

Yay @vag as mommy, I'm expecting my fourth as well. And will be going tote a dating ultrasound despite my us reservations because we are not sure if it's the 1st or the 8th day of October that we are expecting. Kinda big gap, and I am usually within three days of my edd so it's important. Hooray for more October mums!

@fayebond , since you are concerned about US, are you considering only getting a transabdominal as opposed to vaginal US? Will you get a choice? Just curious. ETA: I just realised I assumed you were going soon. I guess if you aren't going until 9-12 weeks along I have my answer!

Abdominal, all the way. @Oceanspray I have had one of the other kind and it was not only terrible but told us nothing we didn't already know. I plan on nine weeks so that there will be something to see, and if we can't find anything I will come back later rather than go through that again. I might be told there is no choice (that was last time), but I am completely fed up with unnecessary medical things right now and feeling rather feisty, so if it's part if the deal, I will ask that we do my belly first. And then start walking out. I am that done. All I need is a date confirmation though, and my midwife is supportive of that, so it's not likely to be an issue.

I go Tuesday for mine. Depending on when I ovulated (and I think I O'd late), I am due either September 20 or October 3.
