Just curious how long it took you to become pregnant if you were consciously trying to conceive. If your pregnancy wasn't planned, please say so. I'm getting impatient, and am about to start acupuncture and basic infertility testing. I need some reassurance! Thank you!

Happily parenting our snuggly wild child since 2007 and her little brother since 2011!

1st pg: oops
2nd pg (mc): 1 month
3rd pg: 6 months
4th pg(this one): tried for 3 months, stopped trying and starting to try to prevent because of changes in our lives and that is the month we got pg

I should mention that I put that we tried for 3 months for this one, and that isn't exactly correct. I had only had a cycle for 3 months because of breastfeeding.... I had wanted to get pregnant for about 6 months yet before my cycle came back.

Two years. Including surgery for an ovarian dermoid cyst (ovary had to be removed, too), treatment for PCOS and 2 cycles of Clomid!

Everything was totally worth it though, even the frustration and disappointments, since I'm now 26 weeks pregnant.

With the last two, I have gotten pregnant the day that I tried With my first I have no idea as I wasn't trying, and the first one of this year took my about 2 years. I wasn't really trying then, but it took that long to happen by itself.

Love,
Mary

Hmm I think we charted and tried for 3 months. Then my father caused some massive family drama and we decided not to try while I dealt with the fall out from that. Of course THAT was the month we got pregnant.

Baby #1: 3 months, no charting (I didn't know about it back then)
Baby #2: 3 months, charting
Baby #3: 3 months, charting

My body loves the number three! Which is why I'm stopping at baby #3. While TTC number 3, I obsessed over my chart from baby #2, hoping every day that the pattern would look identical meaning that maybe it was successful. When it turned out to be THE one, the two pregnant charts couldn't have looked more different. One had high temps consistently throughout the 2 ww, the other had temps gradually dropping during the 2 ww, until at 13 dpo my temps were barely above the coverline. At 15 dpo, the temp spiked way back up and, behold! A positive hpt.

Good luck to you.

Baby #1: 3 years and 3 months after OPKs, temping, Clomid, 4 failed IUIs and a failed ICSI/IVF, we got pg naturally. Go figure. Blew the docs away (we have unexplained IF)

Baby#2: 8 months of OPKs (but never used birth control prior), but ended in m/c

Baby #3: 8 months ttc on our own (had to wait a few months after the m/c), then we went back to IUI but with Letrozole this time and ended up pg (and hopefully will be staying that way).

9mo with my first, 2mo with my second. I was 28 when I got pg with my first btw. I thought age might have been a factor, as it took awhile, but my second disproved that theory!

Blissful Mama to DD-(5), DS-(6) and someone new due in November!

1st PG: 12 mos. from DH's vas. reversal. Also had surgery to remove ovarian cyst during this time. M/c at 5.5 wks.

2nd PG: 12 mos. from m/c, during which time I got diagnosed & treated for hypothyroidism and started seeing RE. It took 2 canceled Clomid cycles, 1 canceled Pergonal cycle, and 3 IUIs w/ Pergonal to conceive DS.

3rd PG: 7 mos.--Started TTC Jan. 05 and conceived naturally July 05. Now 23 wks. along.

Hi Meggles!
It took us 5 months charting... and deciding that we wouldn't 'try' that month because it would put the due date right around xmas!! But we still tried anyway figuring it wouldn't happen.. and guess what!?! This little girl is due on December 30!
Soooo what we did different that month was not really worry about it so much and acupuncture a week before I ovulated (it was a longer than normal cycle too)! I really think the acupuncture helped - I wish I'd tried it sooner! If nothing else, it felt really nice! hehe
Best of luck and lots o' baby dust sent your way!!

Shannon Shaun - DH (and boyfriend since I was 16). my sweet Gwen 1/1/06 missing Dresden born sleeping 39 weeks 9/9/08 :, Delaney is scheduled to arrive 8/31/09 Odin&Loki :

#1- 1 time of you know what on honeymoon... husband said "it couldn't happen from the only time without protection" Ayden(ds) sure proved him wrong!

#2 one month!

I am going to have to consider some stong b.c. after this one (we aren;t sure if this will be the last), to prevent, cause we tend to get lucky with our little babes!

Busy wife to dh for 5 years and mama to ds1 (11.09.04), ds2 (7.17.06) and ds3 coming Aug 09. :::

With my daughter: about 2 years, including one miscarriage (blighted ovum) at 13 wks. we had a d & c.

With this pregnancy: about 2 years, with nursing my daughter, including one miscarriage (blighted ovum) at 10 wks.

I want to add that after my second miscarriage (3rd pregnancy) I started seeing an acupuncturist for anxiety and cut out sugar from my diet and this pregnancy was a complete suprise,as we were going to wait for about 6 months to start trying again. I know that my acupuncture guy does a lot with fertility issues, so it might be worth it to you. All of this happened within two months.

1st pregnancy - 1 month (no charting)
2nd pregnancy - 4 months (no charting)

I just want to add that I have POS and years before I started trying, I was told by 3 different doctors that getting pregnant will definitely be a problem for me given that I often go without a period for 2-3 months.

The first one the second month trying, the second one the second month trying. THat sounds quick, but let me add that with my first one we haphazardly used condoms combined with NFP for over 2 years and I did not get pregnant until we said ok let's get pregnant.

1st baby: almost 4yrs, finally conceived on clomid
2nd baby: 18mos + clomid + 3 failed IUI's, finally conceived on a natural cycle
3rd baby (current pg): 8mos, natural cycle

Best wishes to you. I know how difficult it can be when ttc takes longer than planned.
