How long should i take folic acid into pregnancy. I am 12 weeks and have been told that i can stop taking folic...that it is only important for the first trimester and after that don't bother. Any thoughts?

I was advised to take it through one month after the birth. Congrats on your pregnancy!

Hi, I was always told to take up until 12 weeks. If you have food in your diet that has folic acid in it i.e brussel sprouts, spinach and broccoli, then I would personally stop taking it.
If you are really worried, double-check with your doctor or midwife.
Hope this helps.
