I've tried and I just can't figure it out.

If I want to separate quotes from just one person's post how do I do that? I know to click on quote on their post but beyond that I've tried filling in "[QUOTE]" to separate it but it's not working.

Also, how can I put in one post quotes from a few different posters? It seems I can only click on one "quote" per post.

Thanks so much for any help.

i just click on quote the 1st time, then i copy & paste the whole quote, like this:

but i then change the name after the = sign, & of course delete the text & c&p the right quote in. like this:

I manually add quotes because it's less confusing for me, and I just omit the =person I'm quoting.
Minus the spaces, of course, it goes like this.
[ quote]
text you are quoting
[ / quote ]

[ quote]
second segment of text you are quoting
[ / quote ]

And so on.
But always remember to include the closing tag for the first quote [ / quote ]
before starting a new quote or it gets really wonky.
Hope that helps.

Okay, I'm thick, I still don't get it. I push the quote button on somebodies post and I get a reply box with the entire post quoted. I can simply just get rid of the excess text, no problem, but how do I then add more quotes to the same reply?

Exactly. See, I can do quotes from ONE source, but how the heck do you add some more quotes from other postings?

For the first post just push the quote button. For other quotes manually cut and paste. Add the code in manually (use the first quote as a cheat sheet).

Thanks, Indie, I get it! Thanks for trying Joesmom, you're explanations make perfect sense to me now that the fog is lifted. I'm one of those people that often needs someone to stand there and walk me through stuff--I can be pretty dense otherwise. I kept thinking that there was a way to do all the quotes the way the first one was done, that was the hang up for me. Thank you for taking the time to help!
