So, Carson is almost 17 mos old, been walking forever, and never seems to stop moving. She still has not slimmed down though - big belly, booty, and thighs! :LOL

I've always heard that babies slim down after awhile, so I've been holding on to some medium dipes in the hopes that they will fit around her thighs later, but I'm starting to think I should let go of them on the TP.

What's your experience??

i voted no, he's nearly 2 and has been walking and super active since 11 months. He's gotten a little slimmer - maybe. He hasn't gone backwards in diaper size at all but he has outgrown things.

My babes always seem to plump up at mobility age. My biggest (4yo ds) didn't slim down until this spring/summer. He now fits into pants that were too tight last year!

The Mister definitely slimmed down a LOT, to the point of his tushie almost disappearing! :LOL He's never been in larges though, he's a lil munchkin

I said yes and for awhile... she was HUGE but now she is pretty normal. The medium Halloween and Christimas Mudpie AIOs I had for her last year will fit again this year! She fits back into small BBH covers too

Mom to 4! Welcomed Aila Wren on Friday, February 25th!

I need a multiple choice option.

My DS slimmed down majorly once he started walking (10 months). Or rather - he started getting taller, and stopped packing the pounds on so fast.

My DD seems to be maintaining a similar shape even though she's been walking for a while (since 8 months).

OK, I'm a dork because I voted wrong. : I voted the just for a litte option. When I first read this I took it that she only slimmed down for a few months and then stopped and stabilized at a weight. Only her thighs slimmed down. Her rise was also a lot lower but I think that is just because I stopped putting her diapers on like Urkel would.

My ds slimmed down a lot once he started walking, around 15 months. He was in larges my 9 months, but now he could wear medium longs. My dd hasn't changed much. She's been crawling for minths, but she's not walking yet. I hope she doesn't slim down much, if at all. As is it, she's still in smalls. If she slims down, she'll need newborn longs.

Mine all seem to be fat little chunks right up until they start walking, then slim down. My youngest has slimmed all over, and even was able to wear a dressy suit for our wedding in July that was so tight we couldn't button the cuffs for photos last Chrismas. So he's been in the same size diapers since he was about 6 months old--they fit him differently now, but they still fit. The configuration of how I snap them is different.

It's funny I was JUST thinking this morning how much Jake has slimmed down since he started walking. He's 16 mos now and has been walking for about 2 mos and his belly is definitely smaller than it used to be....he's starting to look skinny!

Z has always been small, but he slimmed down even more after walking and is now chunking back up finally. He's grown a lot recently, having just turned 2 in august.

Morgan has slimmed down more than Avery, but Avery's thighs have gotten slimmer.

I voted that they slimmed down for a short while, only because they're 15 months old so I don't know yet how much longer they'll stay slim

I wasn't sure how to vote. My DS is slimming down, but it didn't start until a few months after he started walking. He started walking right at a year, and then at around 15-16 months he started slimming down.

He's still slimming down as we speak, so I don't know how much skinnier he will get. His frame has gotten a lot bigger though, so he's definitely in Larges to stay (and some XLarges).

DD was wearing larges at around 9 months and then started walking. By 11 or 12 months she was back into mediums. Her waist keeps getting slimmer but her thighs are still bigger. And I swear her bottom shrunk. Now she's really hard to fit.
Don't get rid of those mediums yet!

I can't vote yet, since DS just started walking YESTERDAY. But I'm hoping he'll slim down in the waist some. He has a big belly with itty bitty thighs, and it's hard to find diapers that fit him! He's in PT size FBs right now, but I notice that to get them tight enough in the thigh, they're starting to get a tad tight across the lower abdomen. : I drafted a pattern to sew my own, and once I widen the butt a bit, I've got a really good fit for him now. So I think I'll have to start making his diapers myself. When I look at alot of diaper measurements at various stores, he's often large for waist and small for thigh... MAYBE medium for thigh.

Ava started walking a week after she turned 10 months. She was in large diapers at the time (27 lbs). She didn't slim down to a medium until she was about 14 months old. She turns 2 this weekend, she's 34 lbs and still firmly in a size medium
