I am headed out to my final hearing for the divorce. I have no idea if he will show up. He is in default, so it doesn't matter, really. He is trying to change our agreement but the lawyer says it is a no go unless he hires and atty himself and presents a good case. So, I guess this will all be over soon. Well, sort of, since I have a lifetime of him as DS's sperm donor (oh, i mean, Dad).

Wish me luck, ladies!!!

(laughing at the sperm donor comment. I've been known to refer to my Ds's dad as that... :LOL )

The best of luck on this end of your journey! Our thoughts are with you.

Good luck! It'll be nice for it to finally be over. I second the :LOL at the sperm-donor comment.

Not to burst any laughing bubbles around here but....

In the past we've had single mothers by choice who have had issue with the term "sperm donor" used as a negative for a biological father who is not involved or hardly involved with their children. They feel it gives a bad name to the men who really do donate sperm so women can have children without a man.

Not sure if I've explained the position very well, but out of respect for those moms of choice, we use other words so as not to offend those who have used sperm donors to bring a beautiful child into the world.

: Thank you L.J. Sometimes I joke about things I really have no business joking about. I appreciate your nonsnarky explaination.

annarbor931 - update us when you get a chance. Hope things went well.

Luckily for me, things went well today. I got sole legal and sole physical custody of DS. Ex has supervised parenting time and I got the full settlement amount. I was worried that he would show up and fight the amount, even though we agreed quite some time ago but he never ceases to amaze me. I feel relieved and sad in some way now. I want to celebrate but I must wait to find a sitter.

Oh, sorry if I offended anyone by the SD comment. I certainly did not intend to do so.

I AM DIVORCED AND HAPPY!!!!

Way to go!!

Isn't it amazing that you had to wait to get a sitter?! That is exactly what happened to me! Left court with what I had asked for and then had to plan the bittersweet celebration. It is definitely all worth it though.

You know, you are amazing. I am proud of you!!!!
