Just wondering what the norm is. We have 37" that I think is a pretty good size, but when I go to other people's homes it seems like most people own bigger TVs nowadays.

CarrieMF 05-06-2011 10:06 PM

Dh's is a 42" and mine is a 40"

Drummer's Wife 05-06-2011 10:17 PM

36", 40", and 50" (all LCD).

Chloe'sMama 05-06-2011 10:43 PM

We just have one and it is a 30 or 32 inch, I can't remember.

DH wants a bigger one.

flminivanmama 05-07-2011 02:00 PM

we just have one - it's 27" I think - which when we got it (about 13 years ago) seemed huge but I wish it was bigger. It still works great though so I am not going to buy a new one while this one still works.... plus our wall unit fits this one EXACTLY & I *love* the wall unit.... so....

delightedbutterfly 05-07-2011 03:19 PM

We have a 50" plasma as our regular tv... a 32" "box" tv in the bedroom, my 17 year old "13" in the playroom and in our suite/turned daycare is a really old 20?" that barely works and I don't know why we keep it ;)

What I would really like to do is put a 32"+ LCD flat panel in the bedroom, move the current bedroom one to the playroom and the playroom to the daycare (rarely watch tv but the odd really really rainy day it's nice) and if we stay in the house for any length of time and we do get to renoing the main bathroom I'd like to mount a 19" in the corner to watch from the bath...

Yes we do love our TV here... they aren't all used very regularly (except the living room one after the kids go to bed) but I like having options ;)

MamaofLiam 05-07-2011 03:21 PM

we have a 40" lcd. we just got rid of our other tv which was like 36", so now we're just down to 1. we're in the middle of downsizing and simplifying our life.

SuburbanHippie 05-07-2011 04:00 PM

46" LCD.  I seriously love this television set.  It's the nicest one I've ever owned and the picture quality is amazing (Samsung).

JamieCatheryn 05-07-2011 04:33 PM

No TV but we've got a 80" projector screen and the projector set up to fill it. I love it because it's extremely comfortable to watch or play games on (even split screen multiplayers) but it rolls up and it's gone most of the time. Same price as a decent middle sized tv too.

greenemami 05-07-2011 05:45 PM

Not sure of the size-maybe 20 something? But it does have a super-cool VCR built-in :)  Can you guess it is a little old?! We actually do most viewing on our laptops these days and don't even have cable, so doubt we will get a new one anytime soon, although dp would love a bigger one.

MadiMamacita 05-08-2011 11:19 AM

19 in the bedroom that is used about twice a year

37 in the living room that gets more use. We have a third in the extra bedroom, I think its a 27. all 3 are "old school" box style. I would love a fancy flat panel but its not a priority and we are on a tight budget. we will make due with our gigantic box tv, which we bought second hand, until it dies.

When we finally do bite the bullet and get a fancy new tv it will be internet ready and not under 40something inches.

20605 05-08-2011 02:50 PM

Ours is our iMac. We use a slingbox to run the cable signal to the computer. So the screen is not so very large at all, but we can sit on the couch and watch it.

Honey693 05-09-2011 07:11 PM

46", but DH is currently drooling over a 70" and I really want it too!

Owen'nZoe 05-09-2011 07:26 PM

46" Plasma. It was our compromise TV - DH would like larger, and I wouldn't mind smaller. Our entertainment center can only accomodate a TV that is a few inches larger, so we won't have one much larger anytime soon.

SubliminalDarkness 05-09-2011 07:40 PM

42" LED. The LED makes all the difference. We used to have a 60", but it's just too big unless you have a huge room.

Sharlla 05-09-2011 08:09 PM

42 I wish we had sprung for the bigger one though.  it's a 1080P lcd.  we got a really great deal on it a couple years ago,

Sharlla 05-09-2011 08:35 PM

we might do that some day

We have a 37 inch in the Living Room and a 19 inch in the Bedroom. I never really watch much tv and never watch the one in the bedroom. DH does occasionally before bed though.

Alyantavid 05-10-2011 06:44 AM

The living room tv is a 46" led, the playroom has a 32" lcd and we have an old 19" box tv in our room.

MadameXCupcake 05-11-2011 10:52 PM

46inch plasma, its four years old now, still works awesome but is pretty heavy compared to the new TV's. My man wants a 42 or 44in LED that we could mount on the wall, so we'll see. Other than that just a little like 22inch[guessing] oooold box tv in the bedroom.

MujerMamaMismo 05-12-2011 01:17 AM

We just downsized to a little 17inch. It has an inbuilt DVD player and is light and portable which makes it easy to put it away for the periods of time when TV becomes a problem for DS. We're very happy with it.

insidevoice 05-12-2011 08:59 AM

We have a 46 inch lcd tv.  I like it a lot, and it makes all the difference for DH who has some vision problems.  We had smaller big box tvs for a long time and he was always sitting right on top of the screen.  We will not be transporting our tv when we move, but will instead replace it.  My parents will get the tv to replace their 19 inch circa 1989 tv.  I will also arrange for them to have netflix with it.  My dad's eyesight isn't so good anymore, and having seen the difference it made for DH, I can't wait to set it up for my Dad to use.

DD will have a 19 inch or so tv for her room, and we will have another 40-50 inch for ourselves in the living room.  We don't watch a ton of tv, but when we do it is really nice to have a big screen so everyone can see from a distance. :)

That. Our mac is 20".

physmom 05-13-2011 09:35 AM

We just moved abroad so we have a brand spanking new "32 LED TV.  Honestly, it seems massive to me so I can't imagine anything bigger (we have a pretty small living room, though) but "32 was actually the smallest that they sold here.  Previously we had something like a "24 or "27 and that seems big to me too!

phathui5 05-26-2011 08:58 AM

We have 1 32" TV that dh got for Christmas a couple of years ago.

katiecat 06-28-2011 12:09 PM

We just got new ones in the last year when our very old tv's gave out:

23" in our bedroom

32" in the living room

I agree most people seem to have larger these days. We don't have cable though and don't watch much on actual tv so I don't really feel the need for bigger. And our house is small. We mostly watch stuff on the computer.

kylie1 09-14-2011 04:19 AM

Not sure of the specifics, but it's VERY tiny...and an old boxy thing! orngtongue.gif We live in the country and reception's bad here anyway, but the city's calling and we're going to be there Feburary 2012. We'll start unschooling, I can't wait! And we'll get one of the massive projectors to celebrate. Though my DH wouldn't mind going TV free!

amydidit 09-21-2011 04:46 PM

We have an OLD 27" in the living room and 19" in my room and DD1's room. We don't have the fancy-schmancy LCD or plasma. Though I wish like crazy that we did. ROTFLMAO.gif

LittleBlessings 02-10-2012 10:53 PM

I have a 36 and do not care to go any bigger.

neptunemama 02-13-2012 04:32 PM

We have a 46" LCD that I love.  We got it a few years ago after our old 24" CRT TV from the 80's finally died. We also have a 7' movie screen with a projector for watching movies too.  With this though, it has to be dark outside b/c the room it's in has a lot of windows.  So although it's great, it's nice to have the TV for daytime watching, or movies in the summer if we don't want to wait till after 9pm to start watching something.
