In the last couple weeks ds, 26 mos, has been telling me 'no meeeelk coming'. Now I know that he's getting milk at the beginning 'cause I can hear him swallowing alot and I do feel letdown slightly. I tell him to keep drinking and that will bring some more milk. Sometimes it does but often I see that indeed no meeelk is coming. Is it because he's downing the milk so fast that it's gone quickly? I should add that he's getting some 2 year molars so has been nursing tons lately. Last night he was up at least 6 times to nurse. So I'm thinking maybe the supply just isn't matching the new demand, tho I'm not sure if this is how it works. I'm trying to think of anything that might be adversely affecting my supply. Perhaps I need to drink more fluids, I've been pretty lax about that lately. Anyone have any ideas or advice?
Was he nursing less often before? Maybe your supply just hasn't matched his new, more frequent nursing habits yet. Like Rynna, I never really had that issue except when I was pregnant with my second.
Supply and demand definitely go hand in hand! If he keeps up his more frequent nursing, your body will respond by making more milk (assuming congratulations are not in order!). Its always good to keep hydrated too.
i was coming here to post the same thing!! Ds isn't getting molars but he just nurses alot and then tells me it's empty. and they feel empty, also not prego unless you believe in imacculate conception, LOL!
