DD has recently started thanking me every time she finishes one side. It is the sweetest thing ever, ever, ever to me! She's only 19 months old and I have never told her to thank me for anything, so I'm so impressed that she's doing it all on her own. She says, "Unney! (other one) Tanks!" when she finishes one side and as I'm switching her she usually says "tanks" again, then again when she's all done. And the other day she started saying, "Mmmmm. Mook (milk) good!"

3 years ago, if someone had told me I'd one day nurse a toddler, I would have thought they were insane. Now I am so thankful to have the experience of nursing a child big enough to express her joy and thankfulness about it. It's so wonderful!

And everyone please feel free to join in and share all the sweet things your verbal nurslings say.

I know what you mean about not thinking you would nurse a toddler. Neither did I, but I'm so grateful for this experience. Ds (20 mo.) occasionally says, "Mmmmm, boobies." And every time he's finished nursing he waves at my chest and says, "Bye bye, boobies."

A couple of months ago, I showed him how I can manually express milk. Of course, it squirted him in the face and he thought it was hilarious. Now he'll frequently grab my boob and squeeze as hard as he can, trying to get milk to come out. He says, "Milk, milk," and wants me to do it. This is the only time he calls it "milk;" the rest of the time it's "boobie juice." So cute.

Awww, that is so sweet!

Mine says, "All done this mah, other one." Sometimes she'll say please and thanks, but not all the time.

That is so sweet.

I never thought I would nurse a toddler either. My DS was weaned by 14 months But my DD is still nursing like an infant she doesn't really talk yet, but she signs for milk with both hands and a very excited smile and giggle... melts my heart
