So I have always had a fairly healthy supply. DS is almost 4 and we CLW. No night weaning or anything.

The other day he did not nurse to sleep, slept through the night without wanting to nurse, and then I woke early to head out for the day while DS stayed with DH. So he hadn't nursed in almost 24 hours by the time I headed home that evening. Well as I was driving home that evening my boobs were starting to get really full and sore. It had been less than a day! I raced home and begged DS to nurse for some relief.

So my question is... if you CLW, and your kid declares one day he is finished. What do you do about your milky boobies? DS really only nurses to sleep and wake up these days (unless he is sick) so I didn't think my supply was still so strong. I had the same issue when I went to a friend's funeral without DS and got really sick with mastitis.
I guess I can't wrap my head around HOW my body will handle CLW.

Well, I deliberately weaned because of thrush that I just couldn't seem to beat. The answer for me was pumping, but infrequently, and as little as I could manage.
