maybe a silly question, i don't know, but my son has food allergies and i wonder if that also increases the likelihood that he would react severely to a bee sting. he just got his first sting yesterday and was fine- i've been told it's the second one that causes a reaction if they are going to react. anyone have nay insight?
thanks.

I am allergic to bee stings, wherever I has stung swells up quite nicely. Was stung a lot as a child being one day I knocked on a bees nest to see if it was ok to go through their yard : I was about 3 at the time.

Am also allergic to Penicillin, I get hives from that
Blu Cheese also bothers me, but just a headache.

I use to get hives from barley dust. Haven't bee around barley dust in a long time to I dont know if it still bothers me.

Have noticed though that my allergies depend on whether my back is in place or not. Have noticed that about a few friend also. Interesting.

A kid with allergies (of any sort) or a family history of allergies (of any sort) is generally an allergy-prone kid.

Thus you would expect that they would be more prone to develop any given allergy, but they are't prone to any allergy in particular, IYKIM.

I have tons of food allergies and I am not allergic to bee stings. I have been stung 3 times in my life now. No reaction any time.

HOWEVER, my DH also has lots of food allergies and he IS allergic to bee stings. In fact, VERY allergic that he could end up at the hospital.

So, it just depends upon the individual.
