Is it possible that my 16 mo is nursing too much at night and is then not hungry for any solids during the day?

if he nurses a lot and isnt interested in solids at that age, i wouldnt really worry unless he is losing weight or too skinny to begin with.

maybe he doesnt like the foods you are offering?

IMO, it's more likely that your toddler is picky and distractable, and doesnt' have much interest in the solids that are being offered, and as a result, ends up nursing a lot at night for the calories. I doubt that you'd get him or her to eat more solids by restricting access to the breast at night.
