Ok. I know it's probably TMI, but I didn't realize their poop gets more solid after they start eating food. We're on week 3 of solids and Livi had her first solid poopy this morning. I was surprised and proud (I am sick aren't I!!!) all at the same time. Just thought I'd share the news.

We just had ours today, too! It's about the 3rd week of solids for Simon, too. In fact, he pooped 3 times in a row this afternoon, which was a little unexpected, to say the least .

I find the solid poop a little easier to clean up, but the smell isn't nearly as mild as breastfed poop. Umm, sorry for that detailed account.

It's funny how poop becomes a daily topic once you have a baby .

Kalpana burst into tears the first time she had a "solid poop". She was just sitting with me and playing, and then she burst into tears and I couldn't figure out what had happened, until i went to change her. it was really really funny.

This is yet another reason I am in no hurry to start solids. My 3yo is just a couple months out of diapers now and I'd be more than happy to go the rest of my life without ever having to deal with stinky, nasty toddler poo again... bf baby poo doesn't even show up on my radar.

Could somebody tell me how one tablespoon of sweet potato can multiply in the intestines and turn into what I tried to scrape out of Stuart's diaper this morning (less than 24 hours after his first serving of solids!)?

:Puke

I'm actually looking forward to the solid poop if this is what the sticky solid-food poop is like! What do you do with this stuff and cloth? I thought I had read to just swish the diaper in the toilet, but it totally didn't work. What a pain!

On the upside, he pooped without screaming for the second time in his life, so maybe he's growing out of that phase, at least. I'll take some scraping over lots of screaming any day.

I rinse with a sprayer that attaches to my sink in the bathroom right into the toilet. It's been working so far. I have to rinse my dipes, wash them, and then wash them again on hot.

I hate to tell you this, but some kids never grow out of that sticky peanut-butter poop phase. :

DD's poops stayed like that all the way until after she was potty trained. I actually had a utility sink with a spray head and garbage disposal installed in my laundry room just for her poopy diapers.

I'm with Simone on this - watching those poops change over from the sweet little BF ones is not something I'm looking forward to - just one more motivation to hold off solids for a while yet...

AARGH! That'll be my luck, I'm sure. I'll have to see if my shower head reaches to my toilet and try that next time. I bought one of those diaper ducks that you hold and swish it in the toilet, but it won't work for any fitteds. Maybe we'll have to spring for the sprayer.

Julian's poop was always sticky and not really solid, too. It probably still is and I just don't know about it!
