Also, dh and I have religous issues around inducing along with my personal feelings. Now, we really will probably be able to get around the religous "ban" in induction because of the health of babe and mom but I so don't want to.

Needless to say, I'm going to try. That will also affect my med choices because I am not doing a c w/o pain killers! Also, there is no way in heck my hubby or any respectable practitioner would do a homebirth with trips.

So...I'll do the best I can and pray that it'll be close to what I want.

Oh, you might want to put me at the unkown EDD section of the list because my doc says 32-35 weeks is my target which is sometime in May.
Ooooh! Triplets?! Wow! Congratulations!

I'm planning an HBAC. Well, sorta. Since I don't live in the town where the only HBAC midwife is, I'll have to move there temporarily for the last month. So, I could be in a hotel or a condo or some sort of rental home or apartment. I really have no idea

We are planning a low intervention hospital birth at a progressive hospital in our area. From what I hear, the staff is excellent, welcomes doulas, and the birthing rooms are all equipped w/ whirlpool baths, birthing balls, squat bars, etc. The Dr. I have chosen is excellent & VERY low on interventions & her practice teaches a class on drug free pain management during labor.

im planning a vbac, but i still have to see if its well received by the hospital : in MS they're not very vbac friendly. im a great candidate for one...my first was an uncomplicated vaginal birth, only pushed for 10min. my second turned into a c-sec. cuz she wasn't tolerating labor very well and during the section they found that the cord was wrapped around her neck twice very tightly...so im hoping that they'll ok a vbac for me

I am planning my 2nd home, waterbirth. First 2 were great hospital births, but nothing compared to my homebirth and I spend enough time at the local hospitals as it is.

So glad to see so many of you have chosen doulas for your births!

I'll be doing a hospital VBAC with a midwife at a very baby friendly hospital. I'm excited! My first baby was a footling breech, so had to be a cesarean, unfortunately. I'm hoping this one is vertex!

Mama to 3 kids. We live in a yurt!

My plan right now is a hospital birth woth the same MW that delivered my last baby. I would like to do homebirth, but a very scary family experiance would make it very stressful on some family members, which in turn would make it stressful on me.

Plus, I like hospital food. I know, I am dork. But I don't have to cook it or clean it, so I look forward to it!

Hi Stacy! Can you add me to the list?
#2 is due on June 5, though I had a gut feeling June 8 a couple weeks ago...planning a birthing center birth w/a midwife.
Thanks! B52Bombshell (Becky)

I am planning on using a freestanding birth center with a midwife. I was
pre-e/PIH last time so I may end up in the hospital again.

Once I figure out where we will be living/birthing that will make it alot easier.

A home/water birth is my ideal situation. I am concerned about a mw allowing a homebirth as I am 38 and have a rare blood disorder. This disorder has never caused me any problems, and it's known to not really be an issue, just that there is a chance of hemorrhaging.

we're planning on using our local Alternative Birthing Center, located inside a local hospital. It's low intervention, and I believe no meds - I think they would move you to regular labor & delivery if you want meds. They have jacuzzi tubs and real beds, etc. I intend to use a doula, but haven't started interviewing yet. Oh, and i'm using an OB.

Chessa , mama to Silas T (6/06) , wife to Chad . Welcome August Emerson! 2/8/10

Planning to deliver at a freestanding Birth Center with a midwife, but waiting to hear back from her if I can (mw is consulting with their affiliated OB because of my history of thyroid problems. It's not bothering me at all now, so I hope they'll decide I'm OK to stay there!)

I'm planning a med-free hospital birth like my last. I love our hospital (though I just found out my ob's office also contracts out to another local hospital which I don't care for); the l&d nurses rock! So, when I go on the 8th, I need to confirm with my OB that I will be able to birth at the one I want to birth at - if not, we may have to do some OB shopping (something I really don't want to do ... I really love my OB). I also am planning on having a doula this time around.

I'm Brenda, this is my first pregnancy, and I'm planning on an unmedicated birth with a midwife, in a local hospital. DH is pretty freaked at the idea of non-intervention during childbirth. He keeps asking, "But, honey, why? It doesn't have to hurt!" I'm wondering if I won't have to throw him out of the room at one point.

We've decided that the hospital with a midwife is the best compromise for us.
If there were any birthing centers closer than 1.5 hours on the NJ Turnpike, we might have gone that way, but a homebirth is not in the cards.

EDD is 6/21/04
