I spent this past week with my father who just met DS for the first time. We were on a walk and DS was in the sling and I was pushing an empty stroller in case he needed it. Then he started fussing and pushing himself away from me which is usually his way of saying "im sick of the sling" so I took him out and carried him but eventually he was too heavy so I put him in the stoller. He immediately started crying. So in a flash I took him out. My dad says I went to him too quickly. He doesnt think I need to let him "cry it out" but I should just give him like 30 seconds or a minute to see if he gets distracted on his own as there was lots of things to see on the walk. This never occured to me before. What do you think?

You ds is still so young...I think you're doing fine and you will get to know these things about him as time goes on. I don't think there's any harm in giving him a few seconds to see if he settles - you might try to distract him and see if he can become happy in the stroller if you need a break from carrying him. But I don't think there's any harm at all in scooping him up either.

I think you are doing just fine really. He is just a baby and you are just being attentive to his needs and desires.
