I've been adding coconut milk/cream to my morning smoothie since it seems to blend better than the oil into my cold smoothie. Are there any major differences between CO and coconut milk/cream from a nutritional/beneficial standpoint? I tried checking the label and although the milk has a bit less fat, it's not a huge difference. Any thoughts?

I definitely consume more coconut milk than I do coconut oil (though I love coconut oil, too!).
Canned coconut milk is cooked and virgin coconut oil is not, so perhaps there is a loss of some nutrients if you buy canned. I make my coconut milk fresh because I prefer the flavor and want to avoid the BPA in canned goods. I believe that fresh coconut milk is every bit as good, if not better than coconut oil.

A can of coconut milk has 4 tbspns of coconut oil in it, which is Bruce Fife's recommendation for daily CO intake.

There are often preservatives in the canned coconut milk. I'd watch out for that. Also, there is almost always a stabilizer like guar gum or xantham gum and if you're sensitive to those, it might be a problem for you.

Native Forest doesn't use BPA & has no preservatives, just fyi!
