My ds has warts on his big toe, on top real close to the cuticle. Anyway, does anyone have any home remedies for 'em? My dr said something about duct tape, but my ds was a wild man and he and I didn't get to finish that conversation. Any help?

Besides freezing the wart off or using a harsh chemical, the best wart remover is duct tape (scientlfically proven, even!). Here's a link: http://www.drdaveanddee.com/warts.html.

Thanks for the reply... I just worry about the acid hurting ds, any experience with that? DS is only 3.

We had the discussion with Isaac about his warts, and he agreed to duct tape. (He had two, one on each hand- so one hand got duct tape and the other got garlic.) No pain, no hassle, apart from the fact that a small boy with duct tape on his thumb gets through a LOT of duct tape.

Thanks for this thread! One of mine fell off spontaneously last week (under the eye- ick) and I have two left to go- one in the middle of my tattoo, one on my nose

How frustrating Helen! So I don't have to do anything other than the duct tape? The website that I looked at earlier said I would have to file on it, or put acid on it. I had a couple of warts when I was a teenager and used acid and at one point it really burned. I really don't want to do that to my 3 yo ds, ya know?

you can use Tea Tree essential oil on them but you have to be diligent about it and do it everyday, a few times a day. You want to slightly "scratch" the wart and then put the TTO on it.

Homeopathic Thuja occidentalis is supposed to work well too.

There seem to be quite a few natural ways to deal with them and I've heard good testimonies about duct tape and garlic. The one I highly recommend though is Black Walnut Tincture (and it's good for so much more so you don't need to feel bad buying it). Here's a website with a whole slew of natural remedies: http://www.herballegacy.org/Warts_&_Moles.html

White vinegar worked really well for us.

We used a tincture of oregano and St. John's Wort on my son's wart, and it was like a miracle treatment! I wasn't diligent about it at all- I would just forget for a few days. It was amazing to see it being eaten away.
