What do you think of this, mamas?

A woman who is suffering some common symptoms of hypothyroidism but gets no results from her meds, not matter the dosage, sees a chiropractor out of desperation. She has a great initial visit and adjustment, and the chiro sells her a bunch of supplements (not covered by insurance) and tells her he is sure her problem is with her endocrine system and he can fix her right up.

The next day, her pain and fatigue return even worse than before, she gets a very bad feeling, and never sees the chiro again.

Did she get taken in by a bad chiro? I know there are good ones and bad ones. The woman is my best friend and I hate to see her suffer this way. *sigh*

We are six: Me : Dh : Ds1('00) Dd('02) Ds2('05) Ds3('08) and, wow! Soon to be seven, Dd2 due 4/23.

the chiro sold her supplements?
Honestly this is a red flag for me.

I don't know for sure but my chiro has never ever tried to sell us anything. - The treatments that he gives are based soley in the manipulation of the bones and muscles that he is trained to work on .

My chiro sells supplements. He's also a certified nutritionist. I can also pick up the supplements at the local health food store for the same price. I'd encourage your friend to go back to the chiro for answers. A lot of the supplements I've taken make me worse for a day or two before they are able to teach my body how to heal.

I'm glad someone knew of a valid situation to tell you about - the only thing I've dealt with that was close - the dermatologist I saw to check on some moles tried to push all sorts of creams and such - I stopped seeing her right away - especially considering the prices she wanted for the junk and that most of her office was devoted to advertising her wares.

It wasn't the supplement that caused her pain. She hadn't taken any of it when the pain and fatigue hit the next day. I just wondered if this is unusual.

My chiro sells supplements. He also will refund my $$ if I see no improvement in 30 days. My chiro knows me better than almost anyone, too. He didn't sell me supplements on the first visit. And I remember feeling worse before I felt better. I don't have thyroid problems, but I do see him for things where most people look at me as if I have two heads for seeing a chiro for those problems. I swear by mine.
