I just heard that a family friend's almost-4-month-old baby has been diagnosed with bilateral cataracts. They were told she'll need surgery within a week and will have to wear glasses until age 18-20, when they can do laser surgery to correct her adult vision.

I googled it and some of the info I found seems to contradict what they've heard so far. They're planning to see a specialist before scheduling the surgery, but are now looking at a long, scary weekend of not being able to do anything more.

Any links/info that might be able to help them? TIA
