Does your scar ever still hurt? I had 2 Csections and the lsat one was 15 1/2 mos ago and it still stings sometimes. Just wondering if this was typical.

yep mine does on one side. I've had 3 c sections though and it's hurt since my 2nd one. I don't think it ever healed right or something. Now that I'm pregnant again it bugs me even more. my last one was almost 20 months ago.

No c-section but I do know many people that get twinges from surgery sites. I almost had the tip of my finger cut off 17 years ago, occassionally I will get a shooting burning pain in my finger.

I had mine a little over 2 years ago - It hurt if I leaned on something just right for @20 months - Then it itched - It still itches & parts are numb. I realized the other day thought that parts that were numb before aren't numb anymore but itching now!
Kudos to you Mamas who had sections that are pg again - The thought terrifies me! (I know I definately have issues. )

3 sections here for me, and I have a lot of paim not around the incision, but the skin above it. I have LOTS of scar tissue, 2 diffrent scars, because for the 3rd section the DR. decided there was far too much scar tissue to go thruogh again, so he cut me open in a diffrent place even wider than before: I would never go through that again. But I am happy with my kids no matter how they got here, and it is worth all the pain. Does anyone have an extreme sensitivity? It hurts for clothes to touch the area at all. I want to get that stuff removed. If it didn't hurt, then I would look at it as "battle scars" but it really does hurt, and it effects my life everyday I wonder if insurance would pay for it? HMMMM I wonder what kind of doctor to see?

my was 6 yrs ago. From the beginning I've had one edge that always gets a sharp pain when I sit up in bed. It feels like my stitches came undone.
Sound like a great excuse for a tummy-tuck

My last one was a year ago and it doesn't ever hurt, but it will itch like crazy occasionally. When I had my first one, it hurt a lot for a long time. Maybe 2 years? If I stretched too far it would feel like I was pulling apart. Then all of a sudden it stopped. Then I had to have surgery at the end of the csect scar and that hurt for a long time too. Since I've had dd I've had no pain at all, I guess I got lucky this time.

That is interesting, Kaara. I've had 4 c-secs, and with the last one, my OB actually cut away about 2 inches of skin and muscle that was heavily scarred from the previous three sections, so that he could do a nice incision with minimal scarring. I do love my OB, and the feedback I've gotten on him is that he is an exceptional surgeon.

I do have pain, if I sneeze politely it hurts like hell, if I sneeze loudly with my mouth open it doesn't hurt nearly as much. And I have sensitivity, but I don't think it is as bad as yours. I can wear clothing, I can't stand light touching though.

I bet a plastic surgeon could help you, but I bet insurance would not cover it.

It's been almost six years. It's numb and it itches. The hair around it annoys me cause it's uncomfortable. It pulls and I feel twinges when I sneeze and cough. Doesn't hurt anymore like it used to. It hurt for a long time at least 3 years.

Mine does not hurt. DH had abdominal surgery many years ago and his scar still bothers him sometimes. He says it doesn't hurt but that he "feels it" and it weirds him out a little.

I had mine nine months ago and it does not hurt. There was some itching as I got feeling back, but that was about it. By my six week checkup I didn't have any pain at all. And I have almost no scar...it's just a thin red line. I guess I got really lucky! I didn't and don't have any problems with the epidural either, so I guess I should count my blessings.

My c/s scar is 7 years old and it often itches like mad!

My belly has no sensation in spots, which was actually really useful when I was having my Gonal-F shots in my belly!
