My MIL has been having issues with her blood pressure for the past few years. I think genetics and stress have an equal part in the matter. It has been hovering around 150/110 the past few days and she can't seem to get it down. She is average size (probably size 10) and she walks on a daily basis. Her father had a massive heart attack at 55 and she is now 50.
I have been searching for lifestyle changes and natural remedies that she can learn to adapt to, but I am having a hard time. Can anyone offer any advice about food changes that may be helpful, or an exercise regime that may help. She is gains weight mostly in her tummy, which I heard is the most dangerous to your health. She is taking Zoloft for stress, but I suggested she may want to ask for something more for the anxiety. Her legs and feet swelled really bad today- and I'm just worried b/c all her dr. seems to be doing is icreasing her BP medicine.

Blessed with two BEAUTIFUL little girls: Kylie (09/06) and Maggie (4/09) :

There is a new product called Blood Pressure Take Care that I have heard amazing stories about. I have no direct experience though. Check your local HFS.

Coenzyme Q10 and pomegranate juice have been shown in studies to significantly lower blood pressure.
