And what is a good brand with no mercury and other bad stuff? Our 6 month is unvax and 100% breast fed so we are wondering if she is ready yet. Or should we supplement Mom. Thanks.

I would supplement mom. The baby will get the benefits from the breastmilk.

A six months old baby gets everything he needs from bm. Don't be in a hurry to supplement. Research it first.

Here is a link to Vitamines you might find interesting.

Of course oils are something more natural.

But if it contains no mercury et al, it is because it has been removed. Can they really get it all out??

That's the question.

I don't know about when to supplement infants, but Mercola has tested fish oils and recommends Carlson's as being the purest. He also sells it for less than I can find it anywhere else. Here's a link to the info:

I'd also search his site for the question of when to begin with children.

I believe both Carlson's & Nordic are pharmaceutical grade oils. This is a cool little explanation about that:

My dd is 10 mos. old and has been taking CLO to help prevent ear infections. So far it's working great!! SHe had 5 bad ones and now has had one very mild one (dx today). I give her the contents of one tablet every other day.

I agree with the others though, if the baby is getting breastmilk there's probably not a need for CLO, unless you have chronic ear infections going on.
