I have seen that show before. It really hate it when kids tell other kids they are supposed to get vaxed. Also I saw Oobie get vaxed last week. I was bummed about that too.

This is totally off topic but I get so annoyed by the Daniel Cook show......It's not the kid himself as much as the idea of "oh, look at this cute kid get to do all kinds of fun stuff that the average kid will never get to do." grrrr something about it that really irks me :

Here's me I married then we had dd15 , dd11 , ds10 , and then and now we and I blog!

ugh, i saw that, too!!!! i turned it on for DS while i was getting his bath ready, and i walked in just when the doc started talking about "a little bit of medicine called a vaccination"...i just about threw up!!!!! i brought DS out of the room before he had to see or hear that junk. fortunately, he wasn't really watching, anyway!

and daniel cook really annoys me, too.

So if Daniel Cook has a really bad reaction will there be a show on it?

Is it a regional thing because I have seen hours of Noggin and never seen him.

You know, you're right! Too many kid channels. Noggin has that adorable little guy who cooks, I can't think of his name off the top of my head. I do know Daniel Cook is on Treehouse and I think he has shorts Playhouse Disney. He grates on my nerves, so I cringe when I hear his song come on. Nails on a chalkboard.

Would it be evil of me to wish he did have a reaction? One that could not be explained in any way other than the vax? Maybe if that happened to a high-profile child people would wake up. (Although I wouldn't REALLY wish for this. I wouldn't want any child to have to suffer.)

I rented a Blues clues video last week and it had Blue go to the doctor and get a shot. I honestly didn't even think about that potential when I rented it! Then Gracie tried to give me a "shot" later and I was so mad at myself.

It's everywhere. Episodes about doctors and school. They just want to program our kids from the start don't they.

I hate it when they do that on my kids shows!! We really like the Magic Schoolbus videos in our house but on one of those videos--when Ralphie is sick at the end they talk about how shots help keep us healthy and strong: I tend to just stop the show before that point when my kids are watching it!

(My littles would be honestly fascinated by that if they did. My dd got them watching plastic surgery shows. They are NOT squeamish. )

In our house it's always been medicine instead of a shot. If I have to give the kids any medicine I give it in a oral syringe so when they got the kit and saw that they imeadately thought ooh, let's give mom her medicine.

mine too! In fact the shot thinghy fits exactly in the hole of the med bottle.

I get tired of all kid hows being so mainstream and almost NEVER acknoweleging that others do things different - baby bottles, cribs, Potty training vidioes with paper diapers shown, first day of school, vax, etc. Yet when the holiday episodes come around they are careful to be multicultural - or they will show the foods and languages various groups. Crunchy - it appears - is not imprtant enough to be validated in some way.

a few months ago, i was watching "Little Bear" with DS (also on Treehouse), and he and his friend both caught the mumps. there was no talk of a vaccine or anything, and they talked about how one couldn't catch it from the other anymore once he/she had had it. i was pleasantly surprised.

Yep, you gotta love Daniel Cook. That is until he gets vaxed and your kids is sitting there watching it!!!

Actually, I really don't mind that my kids see it. I actually took it as an opportunity to explain to them how wonderful their innate wisdom is and that their immune system is great and will always take care of them.

My kids are chiro-kids and have been getting adjusted by hubby since they were litterally minutes old so they are used to the "not-main-stream" medical practices in our family.

I think it is important to start your kids off early realizing that it is okay to hold different views even when everyone you know is against them. YOu don't have to get scientific or into a heavy conversation but a little bit here and there just plants the seeds of understanding.

My son is 6 now and never once does he ask for medicine to help him. He always asks for daddy to come home and adjust him.

They had a pro-vax Mr.Rogers on a few weeks ago. It makes me sick to hear them talk about how this will keep you safe and healthy. Like I am dangling my kid off a bridge or something
