A new poll of likely voters by Zogby International has found that a majority of Americans support Congress considering the impeachment of President Bush if he “did not tell the truth about his reasons for going to war with Iraq,” RAW STORY has learned.

The poll, to be released this afternoon, finds that 51 percent of likely voters want Congress to eye impeachment, while 45 percent do not. It was commissioned by AfterDowningStreet.org, a coalition of progressive groups seeking a Congressional investigation of the events leading up to war in Iraq.

This is an even better article about it

http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/?q=node/4421

I just can't get excited about this. All of this should have come out before the election. Instead they swept it all under the rug and got (re)elected.

Well, if he gets impeached, Cheney takes over with Rice as vp, right? Seems like a no-win situation to me.

Unless Cheney is indicted somehow in the scooter thing. I'm not exactly clear on how that would happen. Then who'd be next in line of both were gone? Rice? scarey

Just keeps getting better. I guess there really is a God and He doesn't like Dubya so much after all. Probably because Dubya keeps blaming everything on Him (God told him to invade Iraq, right?).

Syndicated in more than 300 newspapers, "The Boondocks" is now the comic strip most likely to be pulled or moved to the op-ed pages: when Mr. McGruder described Condoleezza Rice in 2003 as a murderer and a frustrated spinster in a critique of the Iraq war ( "Maybe if there was a man in the world who Condoleezza truly loved, she wouldn't be so hell-bent to destroy it."), The Washington Post was one of several newspapers that pulled the strip for almost a week.

Don't mistake me for someone who likes Bush and his policies, but I would be willing to at least partially forgive if the guy if he would just freakin' OWN UP to the crap that is going on. I'm so sick of the dodging of questions, ignoring the problems, reneging or rewording of promises (hello? Karl is still sitting smug in the White House!), backdoor whisperings to reporters, etc.

: : :

But since that isn't going to happen, let the impeachment proceedings begin! Clinton was certainly brought to charge on far less...a couple of blow jobs and a slimy cigar do not equate with a war under admittedly false pretenses.

For some odd reason, I am not going to count on it.....

This is a tree on fire with love, but it's still scary since most people think love only looks like one thing instead of the whole world. *

That's what the Bible says too. Nothing is a sin, unless you are convicted. It's the GOP motto.

This is right wing religious government. Their president should be required to swear on a Bible before he gives a speech. Otherwise, it's perfectly fine for him to lie his ass off.

What a shining moral example for the rest of the country.

Hilary - where did you get this quote?
Quote:
Syndicated in more than 300 newspapers, "The Boondocks" is now the comic strip most likely to be pulled or moved to the op-ed pages: when Mr. McGruder described Condoleezza Rice in 2003 as a murderer and a frustrated spinster in a critique of the Iraq war ( "Maybe if there was a man in the world who Condoleezza truly loved, she wouldn't be so hell-bent to destroy it."), The Washington Post was one of several newspapers that pulled the strip for almost a week.
I glaced over both of the quoted articles and didn't find it . . . I could have overlooked it, though.

I only discovered Boondocks last year when we were back in the states for a while so I missed this refered to series in 2003! I am such a big fan!

Anyway - about the support - Who do you think would become Vice President when Condi becomes the President?

If he owns up to anything, it'll be because his advisors (meaning Karl Rove and his henchmen) tell him to so they can get some positive spin on the situation... just like when he took responsibility for the government's failures during Katrina.

He doesn't take a crap without checking with Karl Rove first...
